No LTTV tonight with the interview with the club doctor on Sunday... Sam Williamson is also teasing popcorn for us soon.

Has to be before the 01 July any which way :smt023

Thing with Lavanini, could be purely made up on the basis they are looking into a number of Jaguares players such as Kremmer. On the flip side, could have had elements of truth which has now been resolved. I would be shocked if we let one of our best forwards leave....

Fissler saying a Veainu and Lavanini are set to lead the leavers.

But Fisser also discredits his info in the same paragraph as he said Veainu recommitted to the club last season despite interest from Saints.
Despite it being done in 2017 with interest from Stade.

The Saints rumour last year was :censored: and Veainu had some fun suggesting maybe Wasps too which Fissler took the bait and printed it as a genuine rumour because he can get desperate on slow info.

So he may be right he may be wrong.

Let's hope he is wrong on both counts, but it is fodder for Bondi on tonight's LTTV

I hope the rumours are not true, but you could understand if they were. Both are players who could probably get more than they're currently on, even before a 25% pay cut so it would be pretty surprising if they hadn't at least explored other options. If I was asked to take a 25% pay cut, the first thing I would do is see what else is out there so I at least know how strongly I can negotiate.

Veainu in particular, although being at Super Rugby franchises for years, probably never earned much (judging by his limited appearances) until his most recent contract with Tigers. He turns 30 later this year and hasn't had 10 years as a tier 1 international (like Ben Youngs) to build up savings for his retirement. For me he's one of the best full backs in the world and I would completely understand if he decided he had to move on.

“Other players could follow.....” Fantastic. I’m hopeful that this won’t be the case. There’s more to a move than just money. These guys have families, kids in school (when open) and houses etc. For Lavanini, it’s more upheaval that you wouldn’t want...would you ? You’d think Borthwick would be involved as if he leaves, our second rows are Green, Wells and the mystery player that we’re still waiting to confirm. Would you sign if you knew the club were losing their top players ?

I really hope your wrong RB, Is this something that's likely to happen at other clubs or is this something specific to Tigers due to botched contract negotiations?

Well Gloucester are looking likely to lose Mostert, Marshall and Hansen.
It’s just reality some clubs have owners who can eat up all this loss some don’t, and of the ones who don’t only a couple spend up to the cap anyway.

I'd be interested to see where all these players are going to go, I doubt there will be much movement at all between prem clubs, French clubs have JIFF and a salary cap to contend with and Japan has a foreign player limit too doesn't it?

French clubs and Japan club will be able to sign them still.
I guess we will hope for ring fencing and maybe look at filling the holes with the likes of Steward for Veainu and the younger locks potentially for Lavanini. If it does indeed happen.
I guess the mystery lock will be announced this week potentially 2?

If I gets brought up on LTTV we know there’s no truth to the rumours.... if it doesn’t get mentioned then there could be some trouble ahead..... :smt012

Who knows but I would still be surprised if either left, especially Veainu, although given the current climate anything could happen.
