Very true but for the sake of Clarity Peter Tom stated that he and the Tigers no execs don’t get paid
The key point about non exec directors is that they are not involved in the daily running of the club. Usually they are paid, occasionally (as with Tigers) not.
You do love a clarification don’t you
I think that's clear.

What about Robshaw for a steadying hand for a season? He’s announced he’s leaving Quins.

I think the only reason Robshaw would stay in the Premiership would be for lockdown-related reasons, he will probably be the next in the line of English players heading to Japan. Although I think he could try his hand at the MLR.

Rumour was New York but I guess the virus could make him look to stay

Thanks, but no thanks he is well past his best in my opinion.

I thought I had read that Robshaw was going to have a short contract extension at Quins so he can play a farewell game before he departs, likely for MLS or Japan.

Non Execs can / do get paid. I'm a non exec of two companies and get paid.

Genius work RB.

I was always lead to believe they were not paid a salary, as per my earlier post, but they usually were entitled to receive "expenses".!

Accepting that there is a danger in assuming that your own experience is 'the norm', but in my own experience you are paid x for y days per month / year. In my case and in a lot of cases (in my experience) at their best non execs are really useful when there has been investment in a company, with a view to a sale in 3-5 years and the investors want to ensure there is good oversight / expertise / support for the company / leadership in order to ensure a return on their investment. At it's worst it a nice gravy train where the same people recommend each other to Non - Exec posts and there it becomes a nice little earner for not having any actual impact. Really interesting website - Nurole if anyone is interested - access via recommendation.

Based on three new appointments in to the club, Smurph moving in to a new role that doesn't leave many names in the frame.

Wasn’t there a story of Ford moving on to a gig in the American League?
