Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD
For me, it’s pretty simple. If someone takes the proverbial, crows about being better than me for years, then gets found out and there’s something I can do to help them out, they can whistle. I wouldn’t cross the road if they were on fire.
I said at the beginning of this loaning out malarkey that I wouldn’t like Tigers keeping Sarries players warm for them on a loan deal, even if it is someone as good as Itoje.
I guess everyone has their price.

In my defence, I was left unsupervised….

Unless it's Maro's boyhood dream to play in the Challenge Cup, I really don't think there's a cat in hell's chance of this happening.
I saw Marika Vunibaka play

It is not so much the lineout call these days, many of us who played in the past waited for the call or looked for the signal as we got to the lineout first, nowadays they stop for a blooming conference before a prop goes to inform the hooker where to throw the ball, so no need for code words or numbers. Slater, Parling, Gibson and Kitchener all moved on knowing not our calls but what we trained to do in a given situation, the likely options then probably reduced guess work to a 50% chance of guessing right.
Back to the discussion, in what I consider to be a very unlikely event of us loaning Itoje for one season with all the possible international commitments how many actual games will he play for us and how much would it cost per game? If the signing were to be for a minimum of two years then I would say great, I know he would command top wages but I think top wages might not be what they once were. We do I believe need another lock, possibly an experienced player to keep the position warm for a year or two until one or more of our young prospects develops, I am not sure Itoje is the man for that, Kruise though could be if he stays in England.

I absolutely love the rumour mill = it is like when I was a 8/10/11 year old - Is there really a Santa? how does he get down the chimney? How did he get hold of the presents which say from mummy and daddy? Are we really going to get both Itoje AND Mapimi? Will we get either? or neither? Will it be popcorn Friday? I just love it!!!!!

If the rumor comes from the ruck it’s likely was never true
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD
I thought it was unlikely for Mapimpi, good news for the Sharks that they have held onto both him and Lukhanyo Am.
I agree with RB, there’s hardly any point reading the Ruck.

So in the press we have been linked with looking for
A lineout caller
- Apparently had talks with Orie and Alemanno
A EQP winger to replace Holmes
- Loosely linked to Charlie Walker and Alex Lewington.
The Director of Rugby in-waiting added that the departure of Holmes presented an opportunity for young outside-backs to put their hands up for selection.
“We are confident in the exciting crop of youngsters making their way up the ranks at the club to kick on and stake their claim in the senior group, alongside the current outside-backs we have as well as the additions we will be making in that area,” added Murphy.
So potentially more than 1 then in the outside backs.
