Not 100% sure that makes that much sense for them though.TigerBoy1880 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 11:22 am Gloucester have confirmed on Twitter that he is re-joining them.
Assuming they have forked up some of the money we didn't want to pay.
Lousie Rees Zammit and May will be deadly but both are going to be missing large chunks of the season on top of Thorely being a England bolter potentially.

Jonny May is a huge loss. Hard to believe this is part of a Tigers plan but we shall see.

I feel like this might be the start of the anti Internationals fightback.
Ford and Genge both needed to be kept due to positions I feel.
But Youngs and May this season both got offered reduce contracts, Youngs took it, May didn't.
I suspect Manu will get offered a reduced contract next season after the lions tour also.
I don't know if I trust Murphy, I certainly don't trust Cohen and Glynn.
But I do have a lot of trust in McGinty.
Wing is one of those positions I don't think you should over spend on really. Especially for one missing a large chunk of season.
For example I don't see Wing being a issue for Gloucester over 10 and 9, so this signing will be interesting to watch from that POV.

Whilst its gutting to loose May I'm not sure Gloucester are spending wisely, Thorley and Reese-Zammit are much better value at the moment. In the short term this will probably harm us a little but it does open the door for the likes of Steward, Browning and Gilliland to play more 1st team minutes.
And for those who will no doubt be blaming GM or SC for this it was out of their hands, from what I've heard it was much like Salvi a few years ago in that he told the club he was leaving, we sign a replacement, he backs out of the deal and we can only offer him what space we have left in the cap which he has deemed not enough

Wonder what is happening with Savea in Toulon?

This lad is up the road and is scoring for fun this season by the looks of things. Given the Championship pay structure he'd probably sign a deal for 15-20% of what we offered May. Take a punt if he's the next Holmes then we've done well if not then we've got Steward and Browning coming through.
There's a lot of value in the Championship. I'd love to see Savea and Nadolo on either wing though I can't see us financing that.

Honest question, why is it? How many tries does he score in a Tigers shirt that other premiership wingers, Holmes or Bassett for example wouldn’t scoreLongshanks wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 11:25 am Jonny May is a huge loss. Hard to believe this is part of a Tigers plan but we shall see.

Would be great has played centre recently too, and still young enough to offer plenty. We can but dream

Williams was on 450k or something extortionate like that and he’s most likely off to Japan, so maybe they have the cap from that, plus Cipriani isn’t happy and he’s on 400k.RagingBull wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 11:24 amNot 100% sure that makes that much sense for them though.TigerBoy1880 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 11:22 am Gloucester have confirmed on Twitter that he is re-joining them.

As great as it would be I don’t think Savea and Nadalo would make much sense. Before the latter signed for Tigers I hoped we would nab the former on a relatively cheap contract when the saintly Mourad said he was no longer welcome at the club but things have changed since then. Spend the money on a replacement for Spencer please not Savea.

When May was first rumoured to be leaving I thought 'throw a good chunk of money Adam Radwan's way'. Now Radwan has re-signed with Falcons long term I'd do the same with Josh Hodge. He's in talks with Chiefs so is clearly interested in moving on from Falcons.
Hodge and Freddie Steward are two of the brightest back three talents in the country, both will be ready for first XV action next season in my opinion. Just look at what Rees-Zammit has achieved with some game time.
