I'd hope you are proven correct..............Tigerbeat wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 7:30 am The issue for Jonny May is that he does not have many options if he wishes to continue playing for England.
Sarries is no longer an option.
Quins was talked about but looks like Ashton may have taken that spot.
A return to Gloucester seems unlikely as they can not afford him.
Options are to take a pay cut or go abroad and end your England career.
It looks more likely that he will stay in my opinion but nothing can be guaranteed.

Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

Even that is not a straightforward calculation. England match fees, partner's career, other business interests, relative cost of living, travel and tax all come into the equation (and these are just some financial considerations). You just hope these guys are well looked after when it comes to solid advice and not just pushed around by greedy agents.

Or, as mentioned earlier in this thread, Newcastle pay him what he's asking for. But I really hope not.Tigerbeat wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 7:30 am The issue for Jonny May is that he does not have many options if he wishes to continue playing for England.

In my defence, I was left unsupervised….

I think you underestimate most Prem clubs ability to shuffle and make room for a world class winger. Take nothing for granted, if say Quins want him, they'll drop Ashton like a stone and adjust their re-signing schedule to fit, he's worth it!Tigerbeat wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 7:30 am The issue for Jonny May is that he does not have many options if he wishes to continue playing for England.

Is there anything, do we think, in Redpath and Ashton both moving on mid-season? Seems pretty remarkable. Do you think they might be close to their cap limit after all the crowing about "long term contracts" and "cheap South Africans"?

So Orie, a big no.8 and maybe Brink on a lower salary due to his injury issues. Looks like we’re still targeting improving the pack which can only be a good thing.happywomble wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 2:40 pm Mr Fissler thinks the Marvin Orie deal is done

Not sure, maybe depends if it’s Orie & Alemanno or just Orie, and whether Thompson and/or Kalamafoni leave. Can’t see us bringing in Brink and an 8, is Alemanno is coming and also one of GT and SK stays. Don’t think there’d be cap space.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 2:51 pm So Orie, a big no.8 and maybe Brink on a lower salary due to his injury issues. Could be Brink at 6 with Liebenberg at 8?

regarding May presumably Thompstone is off and I bet he was pretty well paid given his status within the squad when he signed the deal, Holmes may feel the need to move to Wales too to help his international chances

From what I understand, May only has one offer on the table and that's from us. Thommo is more than likely off, which I think may be why Hughes was brought in on trial/loan as they are similar types of player and he won't break the bank. Holmes signed a long-term deal just before he got his first Welsh cap.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 7:45 pm regarding May presumably Thompstone is off and I bet he was pretty well paid given his status within the squad when he signed the deal, Holmes may feel the need to move to Wales too to help his international chances

Nadolo deal is rumoured to be £240k and a 2 year deal. Not bad for a player of his quality on the wing. I imagine May will have been offered something similar.

Sounds too much to me for a player four years past his best.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 7:04 am Nadolo deal is rumoured to be £240k and a 2 year deal. Not bad for a player of his quality on the wing. I imagine May will have been offered something similar.

Let’s give him a chance before we start criticising himtigerssteve wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 8:25 amSounds too much to me for a player four years past his best.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 7:04 am Nadolo deal is rumoured to be £240k and a 2 year deal. Wasn't Niki Geneva a similar age when we signed him? He didn't do badly for us did he?
Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!
