One positive- at least Faf and his Saffa heavy squad were out, would have needed a bigger scoreboard otherwise.
Re: Sale vs Leicester - 21st February 2020
Another night of absolute boring, brain dead Rugby and another record defeat. Murphs should be running a pub team, which is about the standard Tigers are playing to nowadays. Simply awful.
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

We a just dreadful, there’s no tactics or game play.Crofty wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 9:26 pmWe can make all the turnovers we want, they've scored 36 unanswered points, we haven't looked like scoring since the first quarter and the only reason we'll be playing premiership rugby next season is because Sarries are a big bunch of cheats. These are things that will take more than positive thoughts to fix.sam16111986 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 9:23 pmWe've made more turnovers than they have.Crofty wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 9:18 pm
What do you define as a basic skill? The dropped balls, missed tackles and turnovers look to me to be the outcome of players trying too hard to force some piece of individual brilliance to make up for dull systems that aren't doing the job. Of course maybe the skills would be improved if we had a skills coach...
The midfield has been a shambles ever since Taute went off. Neither Reid nor McPhillips have offered any leadership and left out young 9 isolated for most of the game.
Pack has been pretty good outside of Bateman and Cole who have had oddly off colour games.

Quite, he was his usual dreadful self. He picks a side and then penalises continually. Definitely Sales 16th man tonight.
That said I still don't think we would have won, just would have been a more reflective scoreline.
Re: Sale vs Leicester - 21st February 2020
No not applaud him, trouble is some posters on here only notice the decisions made against Tigers, I suggest these posters should take a referees course, they would then understand that refs are even handed in their decisions and scrupulously fair.

Well that was painful viewing.
Too much taking it easy and losses of concentration up front on the back of kicking the ball away.
Boladau was the only player who looked like he fancied it in attack.
Rob Webber made the Leicester line out look like it was set in concrete.
Fortunate to win off others mistakes last week, found out this week.

Can't remember when Tigers last won or even performed well in a Friday night fixture. Five tries to nil says it all. Lack of internationals is no excuse for such a sorry performance.

Re: Sale vs Leicester - 21st February 2020
Win against Wasps and we suddenly were a side transformed?
Without our internationals and two back rows injured we were always up against it. So why start an 18 year old at scrum half?
Why have a 5:2 split on the bench?
Our scrum were out of sorts. On a day like this we should have munched their pack but didn’t. How on earth did we not sort out our back up loose head’s work permit and end up playing 3 tight heads and starting Bateman our 3rd string loose head with no proper bench cover?
Their first 2 tries were of our own making. No pillars at the ruck and a debutant at 9 followed by an international wing stepping out of the line and opening the door for Yarde. After that we imploded.
Borthwick has a lot of work to do to keep us up next season.

We're like South Leicester.... Struggle to compete or play with any game plan against any side. Wasps awful last week smash Saracens, yet we can't compete against a side who are average. Sale so inconsistent all season. The coaching is getting worse.

Unfortunately , I stand corrected.Could someone please pass the salt to sprinkle on the large slice of humble pie I have prepared for myself ?
Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....
Re: Sale vs Leicester - 21st February 2020
Not sure what anyone was expecting other than a good drubbing in this one. Even without Faf and a couple of others Sale are still a much better team than Tigers at the moment and that can't be blamed on the referee or professionalism (apart from Tigers' lack of it!).
Hopefully now no one is under any illusions that we are not currently the worst team in the league.
The glass is a lot less than half full, it's practically empty...

Re: Sale vs Leicester - 21st February 2020
i don’t see anything in attack in terms of progress or vision....that’s my worry. Defensively we actually looked decent for 30 mins until the penalties started mounting up, Cole’s yellow then it went downhill. Simple things like the blockers for the exit kick. That’s not all the 9s fault. TPN....simply cannot find any jumper in the lineout. A seasoned international makes Tom Youngs look decent. Yes yes, the boys are working hard in training, we’re missing some bodies blah blah - you’re right mol2, Borthwick has one hell of a job on his hands. It’s the coaching, it’s the recruitment, it’s the players....it’s pretty much everything.
