I can see the scrum being a bit of a dogfight, Obano and Judge are very capable scrummagers I suppose the weakness could be not having Dunn at hooker but Bath’s scrum is one of the best in the league.

They will be missing Dunn, Ewels, Batty, Faletau, Mercer, Stuart and Underhill so I’d imagine we should have the edge; especially as Cole has been retained and our impact off the bench should be better than theirs. At least we know the scrums should be officiated to a good standard with Mr Barnes on the whistle.

I’m guessing Jones would want the entire squad present for training so not sure any of them will be released for this weekend.

A lot will also depend on the state of the Rec pitch, it isn’t firm at the best of times

I think you are right. It is a training camp in Portugal so I can't see them assembling today, travelling out tomorow and then some travelling back Friday to play.

this weekends camp is part of the agreement between PRL and England - so no players available from EJ's squad

Also - don't under estimate the task ahead on Saturday - their pack and their defence is a real step up from last season - impressed with Abano particularly - and it will be a sticky old deck much like last weeks pitch

I think the grunt Tomas provides from the 2nd row is a big plus, I also think Green is rather good in that facet of the game (the stuff you can't see) might be a game for Batley...

Suggest we turn up in wellies to make a point about the pitch.. .

Wasn’t aware of Greens injury. I would therefore imagine it will be Spencer and Lavanini in the row with Wells at 6 and Batley on the bench given that the going is likely to be soft to heavy

Pretty sure Holmes is available.
We don't have a agreement to release non English players on free weekends.
