There are two marquee spots, one for new signings and one for existing players. I would imagine Piutau is moving from the first type to the second with Radradra joining as the new signing.

Hughes reportedly signed for £500k a year, don’t if he became a marquee with Piutau having been there a couple of seasonssk 88 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 2:53 pmThere are two marquee spots, one for new signings and one for existing players. Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
and you have Luatua
Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
Hughes signed from another Prem club so he can't be a marquee player.
I'd presume that Piutau and Luatua are current marquees with Radrada due to replace one of them as a exempt from the cap.

Hughes cannot be the marquee as new signings have to be from outside the league to count.Mark62 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 3:24 pmHughes reportedly signed for £500k a year, don’t if he became a marquee with Piutau having been there a couple of seasons
Regarding the size of his salary i would suggest "reportedly" is doing a lot of work there, and that they do have another £6.4m to spend regardless.

I read an interesting piece earlier about the salaries of the average premiership player is around £120k a year over approximately a 10 year period, but this isn’t as much as it at first appears due to a high rate of tax and also future planning.
It also mentioned that the majority of academy players are on £18k approx and did mention one premiership player who at 33 was earning less than he was 12 years ago.
Unfortunately it was on another device and can’t find it on there again to point people in the right direction, but it just shows that they’re not on anywhere near the football mega bucks

Piatau played for Wasps though, or doesn’t it count because it was a loan signing and he since has played for a different club outside the Prem.

Bristol and Gloucester are in a bidding war for Sinckler by the sounds of things. If Bristol win then they surely won't get Genge as well...Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 10:30 amSimpson staying for another year with Gloucester. Ackerman also starting that they are interesting in getting Sinckler for next season. Seems Harlequins are unable to meet his salary demands.
Quins have a massive amount of cap tied up in Marler, Robshaw, Care and Brown. They are legends for Quins and have had great careers but arguably aren't offering value now. Robshaw, Care and Brown signed whilst they were still internationals. Marler signed whilst he was retired from England duty and Quins would have him all season.
Gloucester are apparently releasing Balmain as well.

Bristol announced this morning they're keeping Piutau AND Radradra. Imagine having news like that to cheer you up rather than hopefully checking to see if your coach has been sacked
Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
Leone Nakarawa has been sacked by Racing. Glasgow has already publicly stated they want to sign him.
Sale will be interested as well you'd presume with Lood de Jager out long term.

Eeeesh, injury dispensation signing of the century! Let go for turning up two weeks late after the world cup, he was in Fiji building a new house.
Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
Only £120k a year? Shocking!
And they have to pay tax on it? Doubly shocking!!
I appreciate that top level professional rugby is very tough but not all former pros suffer injuries which limit their post-rugby work opportunities. A certain former Harlequin and Australian captain reported to be taking an MBA at one of our elite universities just this week.
