Does anyone have an answer regarding the legality of the deferred payment until after retirement?

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal
There is no cap in the European competition but the Salary Cap as signed up for unanimously by all PRL shareholder clubs encompasses both Champions cup and Challenge cup European games as well as Premiership ones.
So a club can't sign a player to solely play in European competitions and have them exempt from the Salary Cap.

The noose is pretty tight. Hence why I struggle to see a viable means for appeal from Sarries.jgriffin wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 4:22 pmAll of that, if detected, comes under the cap.LE18 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 4:14 pm Another question, Could a club director buy 4 very very expensive cars and sell them for £1 each to each of the 4 players, who are then at liberty to sell them? The panel that found them guilty was headed by Lord Dyson, a former supreme court judge who has President of the court of appeals for a decade. So they were hardly lacking credentials.

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal
Plus actually hiding salary moving towards tax fraud. HMRC doesn't care about the salary cap and investments that are set up correctly. But they would certainly be interested if players were being given expensive assets significantly below market rate instead of a salary, effectively avoiding income tax.
Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal
Isn't the point if you are trying to exploit potential loopholes then you are not really buying in to the idea of the salary cap being there to ensure a level playing field?
Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal
Maybe they will surprise everyone and not put in an appeal. If they feel they are in the right, confident of a successful appeal, and win the appeal, why would they spend a lot of money on a big PR firm to manage the message ? If they win the appeal what message is there to manage other than "we appealed and PR agreed". However if they don't think they will win and do not submit an appeal on that basis they will still have to manage a very difficult message for a long season. That would be a surprise.

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal
Surely it is absolutely clear that " if " Saracens are guilty of cheating in recent past seasons and are continuing to cheat whilst they appeal then they are guilty of cheating this season also and every victory they have should be reversed and a further fine imposed at the very least.
Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal
Grounds for appeal:
"You shouldn't have been checking."
"It's not cheating if we do it."
"Don't all bosses become shareholders with their individual partners?"
