I rate Hardwick too but having him both at 10 and on the bench is a bit much :smt005

Yes.

But you would hope we can take him back whenever we want.

Dual registration, but playing mostly at fullback for them.

Whatever the chosen lineup for this match, I struggle to see anything other than a Gloucester win. OK a few new players might come in for Tigers and strengthen the quality on paper, but I don't expect too much from them straight away.

Taute - is he actually going to be fit? (Ever?)
Lavanini - only just met his new team mates, how much has he even trained with them? (assuming he stays on the pitch long enough for it to matter)

Veainu would be a big boost if he starts, as would Kalamafoni - I haven't seen anything exciting from Refell yet (not writing him off, just being realistic in the short term).

Olowofela, Worth and Forsyth are, in my opinion, not Premiership standard. Hardwick to push Reid out to 12 would be sensible, but still not likely to worry the Gloucester midfield.

I'd take an improved performance with more decisiveness and organisation in the backline, more pragmatism and better basics. Basically, spend all week practising kicking and kick chasing, then try to play like South Africa - anything more ambitious than that might lead to receiving a good hiding. A losing bonus point would be a nice surprise too.

Being a bit harsh on Hardwick and Olowofela, both played very well for Eng U20. Especially Olowofela, one of the standouts which earned him a call up into the EPS. Bar the missed kicks for touch, thought Viljoen looked good in the 13 shirt.

Anyone know the status on Youngs, assuming he’ll be fit for Gloucester I’d go with.

Gigena Youngs Heyes
Spencer Green
Liebenberg Thompson
Kalamafoni
White Hardwick
Reid Taute
Olowofela Veainu Holmes

Bateman TPN Leatigaga Lavanini Reffell Simmons Viljoen McPhillips if he’s available, again a standout at U20 level.

This game is a pretty good example for how ruinously unfair the international period is, Glaws are only missing Heinz and Mostert. We're on the cusp of winning glory for England in the same weekend as getting absolutely thumped in the league.

I wouldn't have White anywhere near the starting 15 or it'll be death by a 1000 hesitations :smt044

To be bluntly honest, last season Tigers under-performed even with the internationals present. I'm not expecting the returning England internationals to have too much impact.

When we won the World Cup in 2003 Tigers had a very disappointing season afterwards. The World Cup exploits are going to have mentally and physically taken their toll on our returnees and they are going to find it very difficult to replicate their Japanese based performances back in Tigers colours.
