The point was that I think Kalamafoni is out of contract at the end of the season and considering his age and ability would it be better to stick and give him another deal or shop for a replacement. If Lewis and some of the other development lads look promising then we could look to keep Kalamafoni on a smaller contract, passing the saving onto Lewis or whomever is impressing by means of a payrise. Straight succession planning. If Lewis and the development lads aren't troubling the first team can we take Kalamafoni's salary and get someone more explosive and younger? Be struggling to find someone with his durability mind, he hasn't missed many gamye for us.

Word on the street is that Dombrandt is being targeted by Northampton.

Be shocked if he left Harlequins. He’s a great ball carrier who I’m sure we’ll see in an England shirt soon.
More interested in Ted Hill. Is tied down to Worcester but if they got relegated would assume he has some clause in there.

Hill is a huge talent that lots of clubs will be after. There's an abundance of young English opensides coming through. Then several players like Dombrandt, Willis and Mercer who cover flanker and number 8. Hill stands out as a traditional blindside though given he's a brute in contact and carries brilliantly in the tight.
If Curry and Underhill continue as they have this RWC then other flankers will have a tough time forcing their way in at full strength. Curry looks more like a young Richard Hill with every game he plays. I don't say that lightly either as Hill would be vying with Michael Jones for the blindside shirt in my all time XV.
Worcester have several players I'd love Tigers to go after. Taufete'e could replace TPN excellently, Ryan Mills is a cracking prem player these days, Perry Humphreys coming along excellently as well. It will be interesting to see how Melani Nanai does for them this season.
Cornell du Preez could shock a few fans if he gets back to his best. In his first two seasons with Edinburgh he was excellent in a very poor side. Since then he's a had a torrid run of injuries. First a leg injury that he returned from too heavy and a shadow of his former self. Then his horror throat injury last season. I hope he gets back to his best.

Yes I’m a big fan of Taufete’e, this season is his chance to really settle in the Worcester side which he has failed to do so far.
I did a supercut of him a little while ago.

With Brüssow’s sudden retirement, they are now short of a back-rower but I can’t see Dombrandt moving to Quins, he’s checkered through-and-through.
Speaking of Brüssow that was another supposedly “big” signing that Northampton got very little out of.

Steffon Armitage has joined ProD2 club Biarritz who could well mount a challenge for promotion to the Top14.

I thought Armitage had signed for MLR?

Northampton announcing something at 6.00 could be just a contract re-signing?
