They’ll need to shut down Hendrickson, underestimating this Exeter side will be a big mistake.

It’s an Exeter team so they’ll be well coached and will play in the Exeter style.
Plenty of pace in the back 3 and Caulfield is rated at 7

Very strong looking pack, imagine we’ll see that set start against Worcester. To think we still have the internationals come back into the forwards shows we’re will stocked in that department. Hoping for a strong and dynamic performance from Coghlan at 8.

Eastmond and Olowofela have much to prove, could be electric this season. Olowofela was huge for Eng U20s and needs to replicate that in the premiership. We saw glimpses, just needs to be more consistent.

Still have McPhillips, Taute and Viljoen to join the backs so not all is lost if things don’t click in the back line. Forsyth seems to be rated so wonder if we’ll see him retained all season.

That's a lot stronger side than last week. especially the forwards. I doubt it's far off what we can expect from our first league match of the season.
I hope that we see Viljoen, Taute, Leatigaga and Simmons playing the next two matches.

Has Forsyth rejoined the club? I thought we released him years ago?

Forsyth has returned on loan to cover centre positions. Rated home years ago and will give his all to maybe earn a contract.
Good luck Tigers.

Was surprised not to see Taute and Viljoen selected in the match day squad.

Well , if we don't beat that Exeter team we may have a problem . They have only 4 experienced players - Short,Holmes, Dennis and South but the rest are Dev/Academy . However they will be fit and well drilled in Exeter methods and gameplan . My worry is that whoever we put out we can't have made much progress in having a coherant gameplan of our own . I would have preferred Taute getting some exposure .

Interesting to postulate:-

1) Why did we release him?
2) Has he improved?
3) Is he cheaper?

If the answer to 2 is no and the answer to 3 is yes, should we still sign him?
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity

The bulk of this team had a bonus point win against Bath last week, so maybe Bath have a problem!
Also, whilst they may not be first choice starters, some of these players, such as Bodily and Keast do have some experience.
Their back row has two big South Africans - signings from Bulls and Sharks.

Well a few new names in there that I don't know much about so it will be interesting to see how it goes. I agree - no excuses for losing, had enough of that last season.
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

Early thoughts Exeter have brought a huge pack
Liehbenberg is going to be a hell,of a signing
Our back passing looks a lot crisper

Didn’t think Geordan was supposed to be there

Really positive first half for Tigers, much improved carrying from the forwards, much more patient in the red zone, backs passing much more crisp. Only area of concern will be the scrum.

If refs start picking up on Exeter’s constantly blocking tactics, they could be in trouble....yes I know that would require refs to apply the laws
