Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1
I may be a little old fashioned in this respect , but if you sign a contract....
Matt T knew what he was doing , nobody held a gun to his head or twisted his arm and the spin that came with the extension made things all the worse when future events unfolded.Personally disappointed in his actions and lost a lot of respect for him.Kudos to Will Skelton at Sarries for his stance when offered a similar opportunity.
Have no time however for the keyboard warriors on other social platforms that made things overly personal by involving his family.

Seemingly heading rapidly toward senility .....Not long or far to go now , in fact, getting worse daily.....

Had Tigers been in a European / Premier Final I suspect Toomua wouldn't have felt the same profound sense of 'personal responsibility' to the Rebels, and would instead have girded his loins, found the fibre, mustered the courage, and stayed.

Not exactly our best value signing ever but some of those left hand spin passes out to May on the wing were pure poetry, on his day he was the best distributor with ball in hand we've had in ages. Ah well, onward and upwards.

USA’s former 7s star Martin Iosefo could be a World cup bolter and perhaps as a big guy we could find room for him in our backline...
Formerly of Burbaaage (not Inkleh), now up north at uni

Boladu and Forsyth confirmed as short term RWC loan cover signings. Helping to cover backrow and the backline respectively.

Looks like Boladau was a contingency all along then in the expectation both Taufua and Kalamafoni wouldn’t be around.

Sounds quite a sensible approach to me then.Hot_Charlie wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 12:25 pm Looks like Boladau was a contingency all along then in the expectation both Taufua and Kalamafoni wouldn’t be around.

Old story rehashed or are we looking at replacing Bakewell for the 2020/21 season? I'd expect Borthwick to want a bigger role than just forwards coach.

I'd imagine, depending on how this season goes, that Smurf takes a DoR role as Borthwick takes Head Coach (or vice versa, similar to how MoC and Cockers were).sam16111986 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 8:09 am https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/leic ... -t0wbl5nhn

I would really, really like Borthwick here.

Wasn’t there talk previously of a coaching appointment post world cup? Assumed to be someone who was committed to a national team.

There was. If you’re looking long term, post 6N isn’t that much longer.FrontRowUnionMember wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 3:43 pm Wasn’t there talk previously of a coaching appointment post world cup? Assumed to be someone who was committed to a national team.
