Very sad news. An electric player and much more successful than other, better known, league converts.

RIP.

Terribly sad news. I remember having hospitality at a Tigers game and Steve walked in and stopped for a chat and some photos. Such a nice guy and a great player. Condolences to his family

Very sad, I know he had his own personal problems and demons, but as previously stated a really nice guy who was more than happy to stop and chat and have photos with the children.

Also as brave as a lion on the field

So sad to hear this. Such a strong character - a spikey, unconventional player, always good to watch.
Far too young - 42 is no age.
Condolences to his family and friends.

Very sad news. I recall him being jokingly indignant when Spreaders couldn't give one of his tries because he'd fallen on his backside at the line out and didn't see it.

He also knocked our young un over in the tunnel but came back to dust the young fellow down and make sure he was OK. A genuine fellow and a great entertainer. Including a summersault try or two.

This is extremely saddening.
Condolences to his family.
I recall taking my lad to a derby match that South were playing in around 2010 when Steve was coaching and my lad loving the chat from the sideline.

Terrible news, I started going to Tigers games in the early 2000s and many of my fondest early rugby memories involve him zipping down the wing in lairy coloured boots. I'll be thinking of his family and friends.

Such awful news. Got to know Steve while he was coaching at South Leicester and as all others have said, a genuinely nice guy larger than life character, who was always happy to help out where ever he could
RIP condolences to all friends and family.

It seems we have lost another ex professional sportsman to cardiac problems far too young

Such sad news. 42 is so young to be taken from the world.
Top man, great player and gave us so many happy memories with dazzling feet and super speed. He even kicked us to victory in a couple of games: what a talent!
Thoughts go to all his family and friends.

Thoughts go to his family.
Remember him as a tough player with the right attitude and a commitment to the shirt.
Too young at 42.
