Re: England WC squad
so which Prop can play both sides? I count 3 looseheads and only 2 tightheads
A little surprised no Dan Robson wasn't that impressed with Heinz yesterday

2 tightheads and 2 scrummies is a big risk. Agree on Heinz/ Robson.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 1:58 pm so which Prop can play both sides? I count 3 looseheads and only 2 tightheads

I saw Marika Vunibaka play

Re: England WC squad
LCD finished the game with Singleton Sunday so he guess he's our emergency prop,he started life as one anyway. I don't like it,too many back 3 players, Williams should've gone. The 2 SH doesn't bother me, statistically the 3rd 9 at RWC only averages 5 minutes game time anyway.

Re: England WC squad
Singleton ended up playing Flanker due to Tom Curry going off early and running out of 2nd row/backrow subsScott1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 2:14 pm LCD finished the game with Singleton Sunday so he guess he's our emergency prop,he started life as one anyway. Ok,thanks. Point still stands re LCD though,he can prop if needed. As for Cole he will be flogged,he will most likely play around 120 minutes in 5 days, then he will play 20 minutes of every other game due to Sinckler being around a 60 minute prop. Let's hope he comes out of it ok!

I'm sure that I heard one of the pundits saying that George Ford can also play scrum half if necessary

Re: England WC squad
I am pretty sure I have seen Marler playing at tighthead. I too am surprised Heinz goes as one of only two 9's, not sure I agree with introducing a 32 year old at this stage it is hardly building for the future. We will never be better than the All Blacks if we select players that are only here because they are not good enough for the Kiwis.

Re: England WC squad
Englands "Possibles / half a second team" vs Wales "Certainties / IRB 1st Ranking" did very well I thought showing the squad depth that is more than present. This is promising given the likely 3, 4 or more ?? key player injuries that could easily occur to any team during the campaign. ENG scrum amazingly dominated during the 2nd half. Manu looked strong but also had quite a kick of pace reminiscent of a his younger years. Ford plays the game differently to Faz at 10 and great to see Watson and Joseph back to top form after injuries. This world cup is more open than any before with ultimate victory from any of NZ, ENG, WAL, IRE, RSA or AUS not being a real surprise at all. Amazing .. bring it on !!

Re: England WC squad
Only player I’m not sure should be selected is Francis, but seems highly rated by Jones and Saints fans. Hardly like we have loads of 12s putting their hands up for selection. Devoto has been in countless camps but never picked. Te’o not wanted for discipline issues.

Re: England WC squad
Agreed on Francis and glad Teo is left out .... of course centre options exist via Daly, Faz and Nowell under fallback options. Jones has quite a lot of back three players, but those three options and the fact that Slade could cover 10, give a lot of flexibility.
