obviously but no one seemed to be allowing for that possibility would people think so highly of Boris if he had substandard front row players to work with?Scott1 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 4:45 pmThe opposite is true too.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 4:44 pm maybe Bakewell will show how good he is with much better tools to work with, you can be the best coach in the world but if the players are just simply not good enough then it won't make a difference

Not sure how a coach getting experience at a event like the rugby world cup is too bad.
Rowntree is doing the same with Munster and people on here was desperate for him to join us.

All it takes is a Mood Hoover to come along and drain any spots of optimism or hopeRagingBull wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 5:21 pmNot sure how a coach getting experience at a event like the rugby world cup is too bad.
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

It's great for him getting experience and us too. I'm just worried about the time he's awayWhitecapTiger wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 5:33 pmAll it takes is a Mood Hoover to come along and drain any spots of optimism or hopeRagingBull wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 5:21 pmNot sure how a coach getting experience at a event like the rugby world cup is too bad.

Good for you Boris. Congratulations.
I'm not cynical just experienced

I think Bakewell spent a lot of time fixing our lineout last year, by the end of the season the lineout itself was pretty effective, as for everything else.

Also Boris will be up close to the RWC and may be doing some scouting for us?

As JP14 said last season our lineout got sorted, stats show one of the best in the Premiership Our maul from 5mtr lineouts improved both in attack and defence but still needs work, maybe the changes in the backrow will solve those probems. Congratulations to Boris, it is good experience for him but I expect him back before the Premiership season starts.

I just want to clarify that I have no issue with Stanko going to the RWC. Great experience for him which can only benefit all parties. I just don't rate Bakewell.RagingBull wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 5:21 pm Not sure how a coach getting experience at a event like the rugby world cup is too bad.

Canada are in a pool with Italy, Namibia, New Zealand and South Africa, potentially some Namibian bolters, they’re some good up and coming Italian players, David Sisi could be a good acquisition for us. Big unit with a high work rate.

I feel sure Boris will be having a good look at those he sees with potential.

Has Elton Jantjies contract up this season as I haven't seen anywhere that he signed a new one and he's been playing 12 for the Lions so, and I'm not say this is realistic, I think he would be a good addition.
