Possibly not. Probably just a bit of a tenuous link based on him coming on loan, then being released.

No, some people understandably putting two and two together when he was released from Scarlets.

Only by hopeful fans I think RB. Blommetjies said after the last game of the season that he'd like to stay if possible but it never was possible in terms of cap from everything I understand.
McPhillips, Reid, Taute, Thomas and Viljeon have signed in the backs. Simmons, White, Hardwick, Olowofela, Aspland-Robinson have been promoted. On top of that cap has been diverted back to the forwards, much to most fans delight.
If any signings are made in the back three I can only see it being an injury dispensation signing. Perhaps of a RWC bolter.
Freddie Steward will be ready to cover in emergency this season anyway, he's a huge talent. Bungaroo is 21 as well, similar to Aspland-Robinson he will need to make a quick impact to justify a development squad place whilst 3 years older than most his peers.

That is disappointing, as I had hoped we would sign him.happywomble wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 10:37 am Blommetjies is back at the Cheetahs

Disappointed, but if we can’t fit him in the cap then what can we do?
Formerly of Burbaaage (not Inkleh), now up north at uni

Yes looks a really good player that would fit in beautifully in our pack. Not sure how much game time he would get though with Taufua, Thompson & Liebenberg also vying for positions.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1
Come on Tigers get Smit over the line. He would be a quality addition to Thompson and Reffell at Openside and allow us to occasionally shift Guy to 8 too.
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1
Is he mainly a 7 because Coghlan will be putting his hand up there too if he keeps fit

Yeah the guy is predominantly an openside. Given that Reffell and Coghlan are untested at this level, plus Guy being able to cover 8 with some injury niggles, I think we could do with another signing in the backrow. Smit makes perfect sense and has great physicality.

Excellent points. Coghlan is an interesting one. I think I’m right in saying he put in some quality performances for Munster before picking up a bad injury and having to move to these shores. Apologies if this incorrect.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 11:21 amYeah the guy is predominantly an openside. My hope is we have picked up another Shane Jennings

Anybody else a bit nervous about the lack of an announcement re: Blake? After last season surely he can't have had his contract renewed.

It seems that Mike Ford will definitely be there next season, but I don’t think his situation has yet been clarified.CitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2019 11:53 am Anybody else a bit nervous about the lack of an announcement re: Blake? No news on Blake as far as I’m aware
