Any chance we might be in for a surprise announcement? Even with the rumoured signings I feel like we could be doing better.

Known signings left to be announced
Leibenberg, Coghlan & Viljoen.
Still a need for a Senior 7 option, plus potentially back up at 10 and definitely some additional back three options.
Wallace has yet to be signed anywhere else, or at least be announced as such.
Ten could be be left alone given Reid can fill in.
I know many on here would like to see Blommetjies back, but he has another year in Wales, however he’s barely featured for Scarlets, so maybe they’d be open to letting him go early?

J P Pietersen or Jon De Villiers coming out of retirement........both Ex Tigers so will do very nicely
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity

When Tigers played Quins the fans at the Stoop seemed to think Bristol were favourites to sign Wallace. Gloucester also meant to be in the hunt.
1.Genge, Bateman, Gigena, Hills
2.Youngs, Kerr, TPN, Clare, Stevens?
3.Cole, Heyes, Cortes, Leatigaga
4.Lavanini, Wells, Lewis
5.Spencer, Green
6.Taufua, Denton?, Coghlan
7.Thompson, Reffell
8.Liebenberg, Kalamafoni
9.Youngs, Harrison, White, Simmons
10.Ford, Hardwick
11.May, Olowofela, Aspland-Robinson
12.Reid, Eastmond
13.Tuilagi, Taute, Viljeon
14.Holmes, Thompstone
5.Veainu, Worth
Looking at that from the confirmed departures, signings and rumours it would seem a Donnacha Ryan style lock signing could make sense with Lavanini at the RWC.
Back three and back row depth also potential areas for signings?
There should be a couple of signings yet on top of Liebenberg, Viljeon and Coghlan. I expect some cap will be left free for potential RWC bolters as well - Veainu worked out alright from that recruitment tactic!

I thought one marquee spot had to be filled by someone outside the premiership, hence it being Toomua when he signed.westwinds31 wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 6:58 pmI would guess Manu and Ford are marquee players, but could be wrong....I was wrong once

There's Cameron Jordan to add to the second row list. As a 5th/6th choice he's a decent and cheap option. Depends how close we're running to the top of the cap as to whether we can fit an additional lock in with Leibenburg and Kalamafoni able to slot into the row in an emergency we won't be short. I wouldn't mind Ryan on a one year deal though.
Similar with the backrow where we've got three backrow development players at least two of which could slot in at 7. I think we might be holding some cap back to see what happens with Denton. If he doesn't recover he will need replacing, there's the possibility of him remaining but returning right away as well.
Wouldn't be surprised to see another back three signing with Thompstone and TV's previous injury history. Again we've got some young lads coming through but next season is going to be to soon. If we could sign a PI utility back that would be ideal.

Please can someone who is well-versed in SH rugby give their opinion on Liebenburg and VIljoen? I don't watch any SH rugby.
Ps before some smart :censored: posts a link to Wikipedia, I'm asking for people's opinions not the stats that anyone can read!

Not sure we could keep him and Lavanini from decking each other every week at training!

We couldn't afford it I suspect. We'd also have to dedicate a lot of time to training the lads to play when down to 14.Darc Tiger wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 8:24 pmNot sure we could keep him and Lavanini from decking each other every week at training!
From the little I've seen suggest he's a big lad that loves the physical stuff in defence and attack. Has got a brain on his shoulders as he cuts lines instead of just running into contact and contests the breakdown without conceding lots of penalties. Seems decent at the set piece as well. I've not watched enough games to say for certain he'll be a big success but he looks like what we need.
