Tigers 1 of multiple teams chasing Donnacha Ryan
Don’t get all the negativity. Would be Thorn MK2 and someone we could build the pack around for next season. Granted would probably only be here for a season but we have plenty of young locks coming through.
News reports seem to suggest Racing want to keep him as he is seen as a leader in the changing room.
Could be part of the coach shake up, player and assistant coach next season to help counter the RWC and mentor the young guns then move to the coaching staff full-time the season after.
I agree with Austin Healey that Tigers need to stop recruiting players that are just available, but to seek out players with the Tigers DNA and then recruit them. Our current situation with the lack of synergy is partly down to this, so start recruiting the DNA back and build the squad around those players. No more journeymen.

But what if the 'journeyman' has the required DNA? Did Brad Thorn prompt the 'journeyman' claxon? What is it that people mean when they use the term journeyman? Is that just a buzz word for a player that they don't like the look/idea of?

The great Brad Thorn was only here for 12 months plugging a gap for the injured Slater that would not have been needed had the board/management not deteriorated the DNA already.
Where's the DNA now in the second row? the gnarly enforcer? the skills? the powerful leader? the never take a step back attitude? the brains to match the brawn? Slater was our last 'developed' DNA player and at the moment we have no contenders for a player who combines all these attributes like Slater, Corry and Johnno did. I'd also suggest its the same problem for many other positions especially the back row, buying in 'available' players isn't the long term answer as Brad Thorn has shown.

would that be one season to get out of the championship?
BTW is that Chewbacca commenting from beyond the grave, alas?
Not quite but I will ask my consultant for an ETA next visit.

Wallace leaving Quins too
Wonder if him and Walker are both coming?
Two injury prone Quins reserve teamers. This is exactly what Austin was talking about and I agree with him.
I'm not overly fussed by Wallace, he's a good clubman who never lived up to his early promise. Walker on the other hand has looked good when given a chance and played well last night.
