It couldnt be any worse.
Re: Wuss safe - it's Tigers or Falcons
I believe a new broom must sweep clean. If we carry on employing all the coaches that have overseen the worst Tigers season in premiership history then we are promoting and rewarding failure.

+ me also. I have to listen to wendyball supporters shouting up, or down, others in the league to get what they want. Get where you want to be by your own achievements. Well done Bristol and Worcester, and Gloucester for making the top 4. Tigers are in 11th place because of their on field performances. Blame whoever you like, but that blame needs sharing, and acknowledging.wellstiger wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 5:21 pm Don't worry about what others do.
Its down to Tigers to get a "W" from Quins or Barff.
If we don't - then we deserve to go down.
Answer - make sure we get a "W".
Well done Wuss - Well done Brissol
Re: Wuss safe - it's Tigers or Falcons
Off to Quins as that is all I can do: support. It would be a help to put out the same side with Brendan on the bench if fit. Genge is surely due a good game, particularly if he wants to be in the England World Cup squad and Eddie Jones will be watching to see how disciplined he is v Marler and Sinckler!
What I really hope for is some real attacking intent, go for 4 tries and defend like lives depend on it. Worcester had about a third of their squad( v Gloucester) who are leaving at the end of the season but played with real heart and had good attacking lines. Come on Tigers make sure you do the job and not rely on Newcastle slipping up.
Ps. Though Clayton Blommetjies’ attitude was excellent yesterday ; shouting to other to get in the defensive line and encouraging the forwards to get stuck in. More of the same and maybe, Dan Cole to get those forwards going.

No of course it wont, but it will be a start!
Re: Wuss safe - it's Tigers or Falcons
Hate to say it, but we do deserve to go down. Tigers have been the worst 'team' in the premiership this year by some way. We've contributed nothing.
All the reasons I have loved Tigers in the past; not because they always won, but because they were always, but always a 'team', composed of players that would almost literally die for each other - is today the exact opposite. They are not a team, and many of them clearly don't care.
Of course the BOD have failed, and the coaching is appalling, but the players......the players..........Ian McGeechan once said that 'the closer you get to a rugby pitch the more honest people become' by which he meant that you can in the club house and at the bar, and from the stands, but you can't once you're on the field. There is no hiding place. But not with some of this lot. They've done a great disservice and damage to the shirt.

Re: Wuss safe - it's Tigers or Falcons
The problem has its roots in the recruitment of players who frankly were never ever fit to wear the shirt in the first place. Our recruitment in the past 5 seasons has been utterly appalling and its key to us ever getting back to the top of English rugby.

Shamefully performances all round, players: not enough gumption bar one or two exceptions, coaching: no bleeding idea, BoD: ultimately responsible and the lot of them should tender their resignations forthwith.

Veainu, Tait, Thompstone, Toomua, B Youngs, T Youngs, Eastmond, Worth, Spencer, Kalamafoni, Denton, Manu, May, Genge, Thompson, O’Connor, Holmes, G Ford....what do they have in common? They have all been away from the playing squad for either England, injury or suspension.....good players but the depth of the squad has been tested......you could not have planned for all the players above to be missing

True, but not often so many for prolonged periods... especially to (considered to be) key players.
That said, a lot of other teams also have coaching regimes that ensure replacements know the drills even if applied at a slightly lower level....basic skills and fitness being two of them.

I just can't believe that we couldn't beat Bristol. That was the chance. If we go down now then there can't be any complaints, we've been rubbish all season. We're lucky that Newcastle have somehow been even worse.
I saw Marika Vunibaka play
Re: Wuss safe - it's Tigers or Falcons
They haven't all been out at the same time. Bristol put 40+ on us early in the season. We had an excellent 'team' out that day. The list of gutless defeats, not defeats, goes on. A lot of this bunch aren't very good, but more importantly don't care. Otherwise, as you tell any school side 'they would bother to tackle'.Tigerbeat wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 9:15 pm Veainu, Tait, Thompstone, Toomua, B Youngs, T Youngs, Eastmond, Worth, Spencer, Kalamafoni, Denton, Manu, May, Genge, Thompson, O’Connor, Holmes, G Ford....what do they have in common? Sorry.
I blame coaching or lack of.
Genge , Manu, Youngs and May play out their skins for an England team and EJ.
They do not become poor players with a change of shirt but how they are expected to play.
Guy deserves his accolade - he plays with heart. Cole has stepped up. Ford has tried to give us get go and deserves to be Captain next season.Wherever we are.
