Re: Jonah out for the rest of the season
Imagine the day when we can get Holmes, May and Veainu onto the pitch at once, it'll be glorious.

Not without a decent pack to give them the ball it won't.
Backs......huh.......have I had a gutsful of the "stellar back line" this season.

2018/19
1.Genge 2.Kerr 3.Cole 4.Spencer 5.Kitchener 6.Denton 7.O'Connor 8.Kalamafoni
1.Bateman 2.Youngs 3.Heyes 4.Wells 5.Fitzgerald 6.Williams 7.Evans 8.Thompson
Potential 2019/20
1.Genge 2.Kerr 3.Cole 4.Lavanini 5.Spencer 6.Taufua 7.Thompson 8.Liebenberg
1.Bateman 2.Youngs 3.Heyes 4.Wells 5.Green 6.Denton 7.Reffell 8.Kalamafoni
Additions of Lavanini and Taufua are significant step-ups on the guys they're replacing in key positions where we are currently outgunned.
Green and Liebenberg make the depth better with Kalamafoni able to rotate at 8 and Green very consistent at the basics.
The strong crop of development players coming through should help fill out the forward depth. In particular I think Tommy Reffell could have a significant impact next season, Sam Lewis should get game time and Fred Tuilagi jnr is improving his all round game. Cameron Jordan will start to push the PRC squad as well - he's real unit.

“Struggling Leicester Tigers have a 10-man shopping list of reinforcements. The Gain Line understands that the likely arrivals include: Calum Green, Tomas Lavanini, Hanro Liebenberg, Nephi Leatigaga, Jaco Taute, Andy Forsyth, EW Viljoen and Noel Reid.
Local-boy scrum-half Sam Harrison could leave the club at Christmas to move to Australia. “

Re: Jonah out for the rest of the season
the prospect of a back 3 of Holmes Veianu and May is truly mouth watering, a competitive pack, doesn't even need to dominate every game just be competitive for once with that back like would be a force again
Re: Jonah out for the rest of the season
Nope! Nope! Nope! A dominant marauding pack is required to grind the opposition into the dust (or mud if it's wet). Let the girls have it in the last half hour (if you must) . They'll only drop the thing otherwise.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 5:39 pm the prospect of a back 3 of Holmes Veianu and May is truly mouth watering, a competitive pack, doesn't even need to dominate every game just be competitive for once with that back like would be a force again

Re: Jonah out for the rest of the season
a dominant pack is obviously preferable but I'm not expecting it to suddenly dominate next season with just a couple of new playersBig Dai wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 6:48 pmNope! Nope! Nope!
