Who are you supporting, Tigers have Quins, Bristol and Bath still to play!milesanderson wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 9:58 pm Thompson looks world class . Scores two tries and gets us out of trouble countless times. Our general defense is still lacking, too many breaches of discipline and Murphy doesn't have any answers it seems . We still have to face Sale, Harlequins and Wasps and they're gonna be tough but in the end we won and thats the first win in a very long time.

Legally, with the exception of Gengey's 'late' contact - which I thought Flood milked
Flattening players, especially 10s is the name of the game.

A happy Wiggo tonight. Saw first try only but am looking forward to seeing recording of match later.
Premiership survival still in the balance but this win is crucial.
Well done boys

He did EXACTLY what all the great Tigers leaders and teams did in the dim and distant past.... wound the clock down! Far from criticising him we should applaud!Coleshillad wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 10:04 pmHe had another great game. Controlled it very well, and led the side well. I liked, and I don't know whether many people saw it, the reaction of his dad on the final whistle. I got the impression there's a good deal of commitment there.

In the balance? Isnt it an 8 point gap now?

A Sale win tomorrow and a defeat for Bristol will mean a very good weekend.

I'm not worried about other teams now,we've done the hard bit and its in our hands. if we went down with 3 games left being 8 points ahead then you thoroughly deserve it but lets forget about that and celebrate this massive win!

Fabulous to get the win and great defence at the end.
However there were some underwhelming performances and a distinct lack of organisation in the pack at times.
Guy Thompson was outstanding, and to be honest has been in every match I've seen him play for Tigers.

How were Williams, Kitchener and Owen?

Re: Tigers v Newcastle - 12th April 2019
When backs are to the wall leaders emerge. Tommo and Ford were those leaders and two players we can build a winning team around. They were the difference tonight. Tommo is like a Tigers of old - passionate, fighting and provides a rallying point when we are backs to the wall. And tonight a leader by example. And not too much of a slouch on that intercept. Fords game management was world class. Similarly, a few of our players were exposed.
That said, Newcastle are a very good team and were unlucky - it could have gone either way; and won’t go down if they carry on playing like that.

Williams only made 10 tackles and got a yellow card. Kitchener 22 tackles but 0 m carrying. The backs were all over the place all missed multiple tackles, were out of position on many occasions. Owen was poor but so were Manu and Olowofela.
I thought Wells who was only on for 10 mins made more of a contribution than Williams.

Wells is a very good player, criminally underused,he always plays well.
