Prem Club Finances

Post by ourla »

Ours don't look too bad in comparison to some!

Exeter the only team in the black.

Us and Sale the only team with losses under £2m.

Glad it’s ok for a club to write off £45m off debt...

Wasps’ losses of nearly £10m don’t look good long-term either.

Owners prerogative.

They have much higher turnover than anybody else, so the question is can that be turned into profitable turnover.

If it's just accounting the losses may not be what they seem.
If the sponsors cover the losses it's no big deal.

If the bank or the VAT man want it, then it's different.

Yep. Doesn’t make it any more palatable though! :smt001

Wasps look as though they could be in much further trouble - FCA investigation re accounting errors and possible misleading the stock exchange as well as Coventry City leaving the Richo next year.

The question arises whether this will come to something AFTER the end of the season. Certainly has the potential for sudden crash and burn, more likely a refinance by a hedge fund.
