Mike Ford story above. It also states Ged Glynn is going to be removed from his post.

The Rugby Paper have a headline tomorrow saying the WRU have blocked a bid from us for Shaun Edwards.

How can the WRU block it if he's leaving at the end of this season? :smt017

Maybe we tried to get him to start straight away.

Like it or not, he’s got more coaching experience at the top level than the others. Might help us stop leaking points too.

I presume he’ll sit just above or alongside GM providing a little bit of support, coordination and guidance where required.

Fairly typical of the board to make a solidly mid-table appointment three months too late and in some sort of poorly defined advisory role. Still, if he helps keep us up he's welcome round mine for tea any time.

Mid table is an improvement on where we currently sit. M Ford took Bath to a final did he not?

Importantly it was his defence coaching combined with Andrew Sheridan that took England to the final in ‘07.

Absolute disaster of an appontment, he will create a toxic environment as he has everywhere he has coached. He will want to become the head coach and make it very uncomfortable for Murphy and with both his sons help he will achieve this aim. The Ford family made lots of enimies during their time at Bath and were rightly shown the door and I'm afraid the same wil happen at Tigers.

Simon Cohen is on record saying that anything Geordan wants, he gets. I suspect Geordan has asked for Mike Ford for his experience and his defensive knowledge - and to make it easier to take advantage of the advice he's clearly already giving. Hopefully, it's short-term.

The request for Shaun Edwards was apparently an 8 week sabbatical to get us to season end - blocked by the WRU.

Should we bring someone in? Yes. Should it be M. Ford? At this time and given who else isn't available, yes. Should the board have done this sooner? Undoubtedly yes!
Oh, and if Glynn is getting 'moved' what does that say for our recruitment for next season? :smt017 :smt017

Mr Cohen's response to a question posed by a supporter last year at an open forum who asked if Mike Ford would be appointed in a coaching role was no chance. How ironic, that said needs much but should have done it mths ago.

Glynn is probably returning to the academy where his services are much better suited.

Given that we are in the deep do-dos, anything is fine. Just hope it is short term though. Just a thought - if GF and JF have no relegation clause (no idea if they have or not), then he will surely not want them to be playing in the championship. A good reason to pull out all the stops to help.

I don't think recruitment is as important as to how the Board treat people which is why great players are largely not performing as a team. Get the latter right and recruitment is relatively easy if it is a club where players want to be

Why would Glynn going to the Academy help our future. ?
He is not up to the job any which way.
