I'd love to know who had the final say on the appointments of O'Connor, Mauger and Geordie.

Did the senior players influence those decisions?

Non executive directors have a very small input in any BOD. (I have been one).
It's alright having an opinion on club matters but if you don't know the full facts, (and you don't), for heaven's sake keep it to yourself.
My understanding of Corporate Governance is that Non-Execs have an equal legal responsibility for organisational performance as Exec Directors; as such they should have equal input and if they don't then they are not fulfilling their duties correctly and laying themselves open to appropriate sanction.

There is no doubt about it. Those on the BOD, should have the decency to resign, and accept their abysmal failings. If they don't, we as a club shall very likely go from bad to worse.

Well said, and how right you are R.C. :smt023

Whatever Kay’s role in proceedings, the fact remains that he played a significant role in the return of Matt O’Connor.

Ben Kay and Rory Underwood are officially tasked with team matters, so they are responsible.

[edit] further comment? I'm quoting what I read in the match programme, the Merc and other public sources. Am I wrong?

Here's the thing I don't understand...

If I was one of these two gentlemen and my advice had contributed significantly to the current woes, I would feel obliged to resign.

If I was one of these two gentlemen and my advice had largely been ignored, I would resign on principle.

If I was one of these two gentlemen and had chosen not to offer any advice, I would resign before I was sacked.

So - why are they still in post?

Agree 100%. It is the lack of accountability that is unconscionable. And so far removed from the values the club purports to stand for.

First of all, yes I never wanted Cockerill to go as it wasn’t his fault he a, didn’t have enough backing to run the club on the playing side efficiently and b, it wasn’t his fault players left for other clubs.
Geordan has the same problem now as, unless I have missed something, he is running things without sufficient backing and as Cockerill stated, therefore Tigers has no identity!
The pack is no longer feared but can still produce very good performances.
Our problems for two season has been down to too much kicking instead of getting the backs to make good ground followed by forwards who will get to the breakdown to again secure ball.
If this isn’t addressed in the the next 3 games then I would imagine we will be relegated.
Exeter will be extremely tough but play as a team with great discipline and varied tactics and we could do ok.
Geordan says confidence is low; well it shouldn’t be for the internationals as they were in the teams that beat Quins and Gloucester. Surely now is the time for the internationals to prove, not only to us, but also to Eddie Jones that they have the ability to win when the going gets tough.
I was gutted v Saints at the way Tigers’ heads went down and didn’t take 3 points when offered. A win is needed in the next 3 games but Tigers have to take any points they can get.Now in true Cockerill style we all have to tough out.
I’m ready again to get down to Welford Road and try to show passion for the whole game.

Actually there is no legal distinction between executive and non-exec directors, they have the same duties, responsibilities and liabilities. If you are one, due diligence on the company is your own responsibility. BK is presumably on the board for his 'specialist knowledge'. The NED's I have been involved with are often on specialist sub-committees because of their expertise and it is widely reported that BK is on the playing committee. Therefore, given the issues on the pitch, it is perfectly reasonable to question his role.
