Well I guess they had better roll their sleeves up, along with the others, to extricate themselves from the mess we are in.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 6
It would be interesting to know the impact of our table position on our potential signings. If your a marquee star player being chased by a number of clubs, would you think twice about coming to a team (a club?) now low in confidence, highly likely not to be in the top tier of European rugby next season, and (takes sharp intake of breath) fighting relegation?
That said, as ST holder (who has renewed) and lifelong Tiger fan I still remain eternally optimistic that the ‘Tigers Bounce’ will start next game and GM will return to hero status: we will stop box kicking to try and gain 4m; we won’t lose our lineout 5m from our own try line; we’ll get more than 6 chips in a portion at half time; we’ll throw the ball around our star studded back line and actually pass the ball to the best winger in the world; and weddings (?!&!) will move back to more appropriate venues...
oh ..(censored).. it’s the Chiefs - perhaps the bounce will start the game after that one then...

That's complete twaddle - you'll never get a decent portion of chips at half timeaslongaswebeatsaints wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2019 5:04 pm It would be interesting to know the impact of our table position on our potential signings. TPN and Tom Youngs both out of contract in the summer 2020. If TPN is open to a return home a year early then mutually agreeing a termination and brining in a younger ball carrying to be third choice and get settled before stepping up to challenge Kerr the following season would be good planning and probably more efficient in terms of salary cap.

Talking of Fijians, Cavubati and Nagusa would be very good additions to our pack next season. Take note Tigers!

Just to add a little to the rumour mill. It would appear from their individual Instagram feeds that Ellis Genge and Jack Nowell are holidaying at the same place.
Wonder where he’s off to season after next, nice and close to Bristol too

Or maybe Nowell's coming here when his current contract runs out.
Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!

I did see Ben Youngs in Paris, must be going Stade Francais end of the season. Only logical explanation I can conclude.

Not aimed solely at you Mark62, but why do some people on here seem determined to get rid of Ellis? Just because he said he would like to go back to Bristol at some point. IIRC from the interview, the inference was towards the end of his career. Some seem to think that it will be as soon as his current contract ends. There's enough to be seriously worried about as far as the club is concerned without digging up extremely tenuous links and adding 2 and 2 together to get - 99.

Just a bit of fun Cagey and certainly not aimed at Ellis. We are all getting a little too serious.Cagey Tiger wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 2:11 pmNot aimed solely at you Mark62, but why do some people on here seem determined to get rid of Ellis? George Ford and half the Welsh squad are also in Dubai.
For the record I hope we take all reasonable steps to keep Ellis when his contract is up for renewal.
If he does leave I think Exeter would be an excellent club for him

I would hate to see Ellis leave in the near future. The guy has everything, and at least he seems to give everything.

Think we should go after Sonatane Takula as well, biggest quads in the prem (not that it matters), generally good box-kicker, ept and quality back up kicker off the tee and is an experienced international who will only be away potentially for four weeks tops a season in the autumn. And that’s a big if.
