Re: next manager
The hilarious thing about it was the "he will be appointed unless the wheels fall off" line. Wasnt he 1/8 at the time?!

He has done well but not without a huge amount of assistance from the SRU
Perhaps you would care to mention the name of someone we could realistically bring in, who has the suitable credentials, and would fit the club?
I believe R.C. is a far better and more enlightened manager after his experiences in Scotland.
Re: next manager
You completely miss the point. You say he has done a magnificent job. He has done this with the aid of the Scottish union including such things as being able to rest his complete starting 15 the week before a European game.Dangerous4 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 4:10 pmMark62 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 2:22 pmDon’t you realise that it is a completely different set of circumstances in Scotland.Dangerous4 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 2:19 pm If we do end up getting a new manager, then we should bring back R.C. For the record the players need to take responsibility for their performances and GM needs time with his squad imho

I believe that he will never return to especially now he has his Cockerill tartan kilt, made to measure of course.Dangerous4 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 4:10 pmMark62 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 2:22 pmDon’t you realise that it is a completely different set of circumstances in Scotland.Dangerous4 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 2:19 pm If we do end up getting a new manager, then we should bring back R.C. To the world you may be just one person.
But to that one person you may be the world!

Re: next manager
Murphy’s current win rate is 26%. O’Connor’s was 50% and Mauger 58% to put things into perspective. Awful record and the board said GM would keep his job unless the wheels fell off completely. Well we’re now 10th and it’s not looking great.

Why do we want to replace Teresa Carrington? What's she done wrong?

Re: next manager
We knew it was a poisoned chalice when Geordie took the job. It's very much a case of get to the summer and then sort out the mess that O'Connor left. We didn't expect it to be this awful and I hope that the board have got plans to attract a new DOR in the summer after the RWC/leagues are finished. Probably optimistic on my part.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 7:53 pm Murphy’s current win rate is 26%. O’Connor’s was 50% and Mauger 58% to put things into perspective. Murphy has shown some tactical skill and has brought on the youngsters well but his lack of experience is telling. He might well be a great head coach in the future but not yet.

It was time the club moved on when cockerill got sacked it's just we haven't employed the right people since he has been sacked!! Or the board made very bad decisions. Think some fans would want to keep cockers until he was 100. Evolve or die and sadly we are doing the latter

Ben Ryan is available. Recommendations for style points don't come much higher than the Fiji 7s and when you listen to the man speak he obviously knows his stuff. Probably willing to slum it in the championship for a season as well.
Re: next manager
Not a bad shout - must admit the House of Rugby Podcast/YouTube videos of him we exceptionally insightful. But he would need help.CitizenSmiff wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2019 1:47 am Ben Ryan is available. Re: next manager
If he was out of his depth than how did he manage to lead Tigers to Champions in 2013? I can understand the argument that the 09-10 season was more down to inheriting the squad etc, but to win the league that long after being appointed shows he wasn't out of his depth.
The academy/scouting network was massively weakened after Dusty Hare left, you'll notice that now Dusty has returned we seem to be producing youngsters again.
RC made an instant impact at Toulon. He made an instant impact at Edinburgh. He didn't need time away from the game or to take a lesser role to rebuild his reputation etc. It's pretty clear he was getting more out the players than 3 subsequent coaches ever could/can. To me, it's obvious that the whole structure of the rugby side of the club needs an overhaul.
I still don't think RC should return though. Returing coaches never do well
