It's pretty clear Spencer is bigger than Wells.
According the website the difference in size between Spencer and Wells is greater than the difference between Spencer and Thompson.
which is obviously wrong.

also no dietitian in the world would want a lock to lose over 1 and a half stone in a off season not unless they are like Fonua size.

This competition enables clubs to rest players and give others game times....nowhere does it state is a development competition so Saints and Sarries are entitled to pick whatever team they wish......didn’t Tigers play a strong team v Saints at Worcester in a Final and also against Exeter a few years ago?
https://www.premiershiprugby.com/2017-2 ... -launched/

“The Cup has been a highly successful competition in recent years in helping develop the best new Premiership and England players, in front of big crowds and TV audiences,” said Premiership Rugby Chief Executive, Mark McCafferty.

“The pathway for young players is now clear linking the Under-18s League, the A League and now the Premiership Rugby Cup into one strong route towards Gallagher Premiership Rugby, European competitions and Test matches.

“Many Test players including Owen Farrell, George Ford and Maro Itoje all made their senior debuts in the Anglo-Welsh Cup and some of the most recent Breakthrough Players of the Year have been Jack Nowell, Jonny May and Adam Radwan.

“In addition, the competition has seen many different club coaches taking responsibility for the Cup team and developing their experience and skills in charge.

“This focus on new playing and coaching talent will continue in the new Cup format with young players and coaches experiencing the challenge of bigger crowds and TV exposure."

Clubs can pick who they want but it is clearly set up with development in mind.

Yes - Saints had a much stronger side out apart from their young half back pairing who did well . The speed and accuracy of Saints back play was impressive and I do wonder if our backline will cope with them . Certainly if we play with the same level of concentration and commitment as we did in the Bristol away game when all our Internationals last returned then we are in for a hammering . Thought Harrison played well at 8 today .

Yes, congratulations to Saints. Any win v Sarries should be applauded.
Lawes could return against us and they have others to strengthen their team that will be very confident of repeating last season’s win here.
Hope, we, the crowd can really make our team turn up.

His throwing was awful for NSW at the weekend- didn't look surprised, more 'Oh no not again'. Confidence looks completely shot to me.

It is very strange that such an experienced international, has lost the plot. :smt017

We said the same thing about OTY when his lineout went to pot. It does baffle me - wonder if it's like what would be called in cricketing circles as 'the yips'
