With Bateman injured I wouldn't have thought so. Genge to start at loosehead with Gigena on the bench.
Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!

Gigena has been very good the last few games. Can see him overtaking Bateman next season, seems stronger at the set piece and is working on his carrying. Quite so LTT. Representative honours at age group level with Argentina plus 1 full cap. I seem to recall that the last Argentinian loosehead we had here didn't do too badly for us. With Boris and the senior props to bring him on I have high hopes.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 1:58 pmGigena has been very good the last few games. Williams is not an 8 period. There are tried and tested options. Assuming Denton is still injured Evans, O'Connor and Thompson have all played there. For balance I would have Evans or O'Connor at 7, Thompson at 8 and Williams at 6.

Re: Tigers v Saints
All of those fit are much lighter, they have 2 weeks to work on Williams at 8, we keep saying we need a big brute of an 8, Williams is the only one who could realistically be classed as a big brute. (other than Fred) So i don't think it would be too long a shot.voice of the crumbie wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 7:41 amWilliams is not an 8 period. There are tried and tested options. Re: Tigers v Saints
As much as a hefty option at 8 would be nice to see, I'm not sure it should come at the expense of rugby smarts. This isn't meant as a personal slight on Williams, but 8 is where you want your best reader (certainly in the pack, possibly on the park) of the game - O'Connor and Thompson are much better in this regard. 2 years would probably be a more realistic time frame for getting someone up to speed!LE18 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 4:03 pmAll of those fit are much lighter, they have 2 weeks to work on Williams at 8, we keep saying we need a big brute of an 8, Williams is the only one who could realistically be classed as a big brute. Re: Tigers v Saints
I'm really looking forward to this game, being more than just another Premiership fixture.
Time to turn the tide, Tigers.
