Well that was a get out of gaol free card. Pleased for the win but tried hard to lose with that dumb lineout at the end.

Best game from Joe Ford since he arrived, obviously plays better without a proper Scrum Half. Thought Thompson also played well and Apsland-Robinson looks a good prospect but a lot of them put in a more effort today.

Disappointed with Sarto though and why did we ever sign Eastmond?
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

I went with my dad to the game and we were saying the same. We were far better when the option to kick it to their back three was taken away.

Don't get me wrong, the box kick can be a very useful tactic but we rely on it far too much. It was quite illuminating to see us have to play another way.
I saw Marika Vunibaka play

The box kick is only useful if you chase the kick.

I thought Sarto looked pretty good, I'd like to see him get a game or 2 in the first team before the season ends just to see what he can do

Sarto is still getting used to the system on the whole.
He's only played what 5 games in the last year and a half roughly.

Eastmond I thought was excellent.

Sarto showed good experience and out himself about physically, I thought. Bar that one powder puff effort for their second try I thought Eastmond was decent too.

The forwards were phenomenal throughout. In terms of the SH position, last man standing for next week I think!

Yes BFG
Spencer 12/18
Thompson 6/43
Kala 15/20
The rest negative again but some standout runs by the returning two today.

Yes , Ford did well but utterly stupid not to ground that ball properly . We defended well but in the end were helped by JP having one of his more random days , but this time favouring us . Kalamafoni and Thompson were great , and Holmes did a fine job as stand in 9 - much better than the 2 players who started before him . Wasps seemed to go through our backline with ease in that 1st half and I can't really understand why they didn't win .

Strangely they were the only three who had to get into double figures for tackles too, seemed more at the time.

Forward pack was massive for us again today, front row and front row replacements beasted Wasps at scrum time. Eastmond played well today too, hats off to Holmes and Sarto, true grit shown too to see it out. A proper Tiger performance and Welford Road was rocking at the end.
