You’ve picked 2 fly half’s. Very good ones but doubt either one of them was a 9

15.Smurf

16.Youngs 17.Rowntree 18.White 19.Parling 20.Croft 21.Youngs 22.Stransky 23.Healey

A really tough call leaving out Mad Dog. The back row has a lot of great options though with Kronfield another noticeable absentee.

Goode might not come up on many of these team sheets but whilst being a prize WUM and pantomime villain at times he was a vital cog in many trophy winning sides. He still has the most consistent restarts I've seen in terms of accuracy and sheer height he put on the ball - kickoffs aren't called the third set-piece for nothing.

Based on the players you have actually watched play, which would be your best fifteen?

Obviously a great deal would depend upon your age, so there should be a fair amount of variation.
No apologies needed. This is great, though very difficult, it may take me some months even to choose full back.

Sticking to players that I have watched live from the stands (basically from 2003 onwards when I was mid-teens, showing my age is a lot younger that some on here :smt002):

15. Murphy
14. A. Tuilagi
13. Rabeni
12. Gibson
11. Agulla
10. Goode
9. Dupuy (just for that try!)

1. Rowntree
2. Kayser
3. Castro/White (couldn't decide!)
4. Johnson
5. Cullen
6. Corry
7. Jennings (bit of a left-field choice but was always a big fan of his!)
8. H. Tuilagi

There's a couple of players in there that had relatively short stints with the club, but I was sad to see them leave.

I found the 15 position the hardest to choose.

Barry Evans eh? He would be my second choice. He was quite a player, and oh boy, could he run. Loved the guy.

Ended Mike Slemens international career by burning him twice in the BaBas game.

A year younger than me though at different schools he was like lightening. Legend had it that in one school season around the age 14 he scored 100 trys

Very sorry but I cannot see the point of this thread, here we are in 9th place, out of Europe, Manu possibly leaving, loads of possible signings, 6 Nations and all this thread is about selecting some fantasy "has been" team that cannot do anything to improve our situation. Surely at best, this is a thread for the closed season when there is nowt else to discuss?
