Penalty try a little fortunate for my money Ashton over ran the ball.
Other than that another excellent performance executed the game plan brilliantly

Seemed that intensity dropped when Vunipolas went off.
Nathan Hughes does not seem to make the impact I'd expect of him.
Good win with plenty to work on.

Who we gonna play at 13 after the 6N is the question. Manu at 12 looks a real force. I thought I preferred him at 13 but what do I know.
I'm not cynical just experienced

I always think that about Hughes. Great no.8 at premiership level but never seems to translate onto the international stage. Feel like we need Simmonds back for the bench spot or against Wales Clifford or Shields.
Re: The Six Nations 2019
Simmonds no,too underpowered at this level! Clifford too much of a luxury player too, with Wilson being able to play across the BR I'd have Shields if a change is made.

Or Zach Mercer, forgot about him. Played well against South Africa when he was given the chance. Wouldn’t mind seeing him against Italy, would be a useful player in the number 20 shirt.
Re: The Six Nations 2019
Point of order question. When a try is scored, it can be reviewed up until the conversion is taken. With a penalty try, there is now no conversion and it’s 7 points straight away and restart. So, when Nigel Owens decided to review, did he have the right to do so? If not, it suggests a bit of an oversight on the part of the lawmakers. It was mentioned on the commentary but still not sure of the laws on this one.
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….
Re: The Six Nations 2019
Often critical of Owen's but both decisions correct in normal rugby terms. Sinckler not even handbags.

Re: The Six Nations 2019
I think the current interpretations state where a penalty try is awarded the offending player should be sin binned where identifiable so he could claim he was checking the number of the player.loretta wrote: ↑Sun Feb 10, 2019 9:21 pm Point of order question. As it was I think the touch judge raised the question of whether another defender would have covered so Owens rightly checked to be sure. For me that's good communication between ref and assistant.
Personally I'm not sure Ashton had controlled the ball so think had the tackle not happened we would not have scored. The French player would have been sin binned even if not a penalty try as it was a cynical foul play.
Re: The Six Nations 2019
All good points and good reasons to have doubts, but within the laws of the game would Owens be within his rights to change his mind once the penalty try was given?
