Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 4
Good news. Growing our own and keeping our own is probably the only way we can hope to compete at the top again. Let's hope that we can secure the futures of a few more, namely Will Evans who is a future Lions player IMHO.
I saw Marika Vunibaka play

Confirmed by a current national leagues player who went through the academy with him that Will Evans definitely off to Harlequins
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 4
Well according to Fissler in the Rugby Paper:
Quins look to have won the race to sign Will Evans
Gloucester are struggling to get Jake Polledri to re-sign for next season.
Manu Tuilagi is considering a move to Racing Metro (you'd think they'd get the name right! Racing 92)
I know the Evans and Tuilagi rumours have been ongoing for a while but just thought I'd mention what's been written in the paper.

Mid twenties championship player who hasn't really kicked on since playing for England U18's. Not really the sort of stellar signing some folk on here would be expecting.
Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!

He was on loan for one game.....voice of the crumbie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 10:43 amMid twenties championship player who hasn't really kicked on since playing for England U18's. Not really the sort of stellar signing some folk on here would be expecting.
Saying that Jonah Holmes was a mid twenties championship player who hadn't kicked on since playing for the Wasps academy.
Wilson has quite a good try ratio in the champ.
35 tries in 83 games
Good highlights real (Aren't they all though)

and a good hat trick v London Scottish this season

Yes please if Polledri wants a new club even though he’ll be gone during the internationalsellis9 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 9:48 am Well according to Fissler in the Rugby Paper:

Looks quick and elusive with a decent hand off and his tries to game ratio is good. Worth a look. Holmes has improved whilst he's here so another punt on a Championship winger might not be a bad thing. Particularly if we can develop him into additional full back cover.RagingBull wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 10:52 amHe was on loan for one game.....voice of the crumbie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 10:43 amMid twenties championship player who hasn't really kicked on since playing for England U18's. Looking forward to the confirmation of that. Great news.

Re-signing Reffell will certainly soften the Evans blow! But I've heard Gough could be the best of the 3 of them, anyone give me the lowdown on him please?

Presuming Evans is going (& that is a sign of massive ineptness) & BOC leaving to, we need to be signing a hell of an openside to cover that gap & I mean a genuine 7 (we play so much better with one & have always really valued the position as long as I have supported the club).
If it isn't Sam Cane, Ardi Savea, Hooper or Matera we have dumbed down.
As for Manu there isn't a real replacement for him....maybe one of the "Aussie" centres?

Matera's a 6 but you're right imho - a quality 'out 'n out' 7 is essential.Wayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 12:33 pm Presuming Evans is going (& that is a sign of massive ineptness) & BOC leaving to, we need to be signing a hell of an openside to cover that gap & I mean a genuine 7 (we play so much better with one & have always really valued the position as long as I have supported the club).

Not sure how many games Evans has played over the last 2 seasons but it can’t be that many due to injury and illness, and the way openside flankers play he will get injured again.
Can someone explain to me how we are going to miss what we haven’t had.
Also this could be a another case like Logo where they have offered more than Tigers feel he’s worth
