Don't forget we have Sarto and Varndell as back 3 injury cover signings.Jimmy Skitz wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 2:35 pm it's the same in the back 3 too, May away with England, Veianu out, Holmes away, Thompstone out, Tait out
Olowofela, Aspland-Robinson and Worth are pretty much the last 3 standing and available.
SH if Harrison isn't back we only have Ben White

Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!
Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19
Realistically an incident such as being down to 5th choice hooker should be getting covered by development (Mahoney) or even bringing a loan signing in from the Championship.ellis9 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 2:22 pmAre we not down to our 4th and 5th choice hookers this week? TPN out, Youngs out and Kerr away with Scotland. It's a good job we have 5 hookers.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 1:01 pmAlways thought in some areas our squad is too bloated with quantity rather than quality. No way do we need that many hookers or backrowers!RagingBull wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 12:34 pm
More squad size
Hookers
Sale 2, Tigers 5
Props
Sale 7 Tigers 7
Locks
Sale 5 Tigers 5
Back Row
Sale 4 Tigers 8
Scrum Half
Sale 3 Tigers 2
Fly Half
Sale 2 Tigers 2
Centres
Sale 4, Tigers 6
Wings
Sale 4, Tigers 4
Full Back
Sale 1 Tigers 3
Taking some numbers out of the squad and filling out depth with more development signings is necessary to improve things in my opinion.

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19
Is there a squad balancing issue there perhaps in terms of calibre. For example, what international players do Sale have as opposed to us? So we need greater depth to cover international periods, plus those additional games perhaps take their toll so we again need depth to cover rest and recovery. If your squad has less international commitments you can probably get away with a smaller squad.

And a good academy prospect in Jonny Law.
In the end it’s all a balance. The backs allow a little more leeway to throw a young player in, the front Row doesn’t.

Depends on how the physically developed the youngster is. Heyes seems to have done fine at only 19. People develop at different speeds, Heyes has reached physical maturity quicker than most. We might have another prop on the way through who will do similar, there's certainly a number of props in our academy capable of stepping up. This season will be too soon though Grahamslaw might be ready for a chance.Hot_Charlie wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 3:15 pmAnd a good academy prospect in Jonny Law.
