Kerr gets Scotland call

Post by longlivethecrumbie »

Congratulations to Jake Kerr on being called up to the Scotland squad for the 6N.

Makes our hooker options look a little thinner and maybe keeping hold of him longer term a little thinner too.....

Fantastic news for him.

Not so great news for us, but I do think we should tie him into a long term deal.

Loads of Scottish players play in the premiership and that doesn’t impact their international ambitions. I can’t imagine it causing too many problems, unlike a Wales call up.

The two Scottish teams already have 6 Scottish hookers between them so it's probably a benefit to have Kerr playing elsewhere. You'd also like to think Tigers is someone union's would be happy for front rowers to ply their trade.

Agreed - but, it was the pretence of Luke Hamilton moving up north to further his international claims.

Very happy for the lad as he's stepped up into a difficult slot with a pack that's often on the back foot and really held his own. Not so happy for me as I was already getting stomach cramps thinking about the 6N period.

Another international boast for Tigers in an era of under achievement.

Pleased for any squad member who gets a call up. He deserves the opportunity.

However......do I need to polish me boots cause during 6N, and injuries, we are going to drain the tank..
P.S.

Fair play to the lad. He made some bold career calls early on, choosing to walk away from Edinburgh with no contract to go to, and it’s panned out for him.

Congratulations to him!
He's making good progress, and being picked for the Scotland squad will hopefully be an added boost.

Well done

More of a short term problem than a long term threat I think.

I can’t see Scotland making changes to their selection policy for a little time yet, I think the Scots still have bad memories of the Fortress Scotland policy, so I think Kerr will stay at the club, and great news for him he’s really risen to the fore this season.

Really well deserved very much the modern hooker, mobile round the pitch, steady scrummager and excellent arrows at line out time

Good job we recruited all those hookers at the start of the season!
