Will Evans going Quins is bonkers. Mad to let him go + also pretty silly of him to sign there if he has. Talks could just be talks. Can use it as leverage with us.
He’s out on contract. If he wants to go not a lot we can do to stop him.
Playing under Gustard.
Quins get looked at regularly at International level.
Good set up.
Regular games at Twickenham.
Surrey is a lovely place to live.
New surroundings.
I'm not suggesting he should go, nor that he is, but saying that it is silly for him to sign for Quins is a bit unfair on Quins to be fair.
I'm sure they are. But is he realistically first choice here? If Quins, who are on the up, dangle the carrots of wage increase and more first team starts, I could see why he'd leave. As other posters have said, there is a difference between wanting to go, and letting him go. I would say the only two we've recently let go are Burns and Slater

Burns not so much. We apparently wanted to keep him but he apparently didn't want to play second fiddle to Ford, so he chose to leave.

I don't think Evans wants to go though.
Wouldn't life be so much easier if conversations went like this-
Tigers- Will, we want you to stay here. Do you want to stay?
Evans- Yeah, I want to stay here.
Tigers- Here's your contract then. Here's the pen.
You shouldn’t be typing stuff like that on here. You’re gonna get snapped up by a FTSE company to be their chief negotiator giving away trade secrets like that.

I can understand why Will might want to play hardball with Tigers, he's 22 and a lot of 7's now coming up have gotten more game time than him despite being younger. (Granted Illness and injury have played a big part in that)
It's easy to see why he might want to make sure he is in Murphys plans, which I think he will be.
We want a pair or more of genuine thoroughbred 7's that play like 7's.. ball retainers. We dont want jack of all trades and masters of none which we have in abundance
We need to keep Evans and find a new main back up. Underhill would do...
Plus two nasty enforcer locks. With the very best front row in Europe bar possibly Clermont, we would become a born again team.

Agreed, the front row is probably the best in Europe so doesn’t need touching. Same with the backs, bar a replacement for Toomua and back up for Ford, we already have a quality backline.
Problem is with the pack, more so the back 5. We need some more physicality in order to compete with the top order and generate that quick ball.
I believe the back five needs strengthening, as well as decent cover for GF. Certainly we need an out and out fullback, and not a "jack of All Trades."

Do we? We have Holmes who seems to be nailing down the shirt. Plus Worth has been growing in the role this season with Veainu being able to cover at the back.
Aspland-Robinson has also been playing at 15 in the shield games and has loads of potential. Would be wasting the cap bringing in another 15.
