No clue.

Has the Calum Green rumour come from anywhere other than someone on here who mentioned it as their very first post? I’m certainly not reading anything into it, as good a signing as he’d be!
Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 4
I was (am? Let's see...) a fan of Tom Varndell's, defensive weaknesses and all. He was just an exciting player when he was here (and elsewhere), good eye for a try. So I'll be happy to see what he does in a Tigers' shirt once more.
For my money, I'd really like to see some beef in the back row. Bath trounced us this week in that dept, and no insult intended to the lads currently in situ, we need strengthening there IMO.
I'll also, and forever, mourn the loss of Thacker. I think we are missing a proper game changer (Tuilagi coming back to his best aside). I almost don't care what position (although scrum half would be nice. I'd like to see a youthful Ben Youngs reappear, he seems psychologically underwhelmed at Tigers at the moment. Better in an England shirt). Someone whose name is first on the sheet and you build a team around. No disparagement intended to incumbents like George Ford etc, all of whom are excellent. There just seems to me to be a certain "something" missing. A Woodwardian 1% improvement from a maverick could set us alight. I don't think there is much wrong that couldn't be fixed in the top two inches. After all "mediocre" players used to come to Tigers and be transformed. We were renowned for it. It can be so again.
So, imports: a back rower of great power or potential, and a maverick (not necessarily marquee) to grab us by the scruff of the neck.

Hope so. Last few months have shown we need quality additions, especially in the back 5 of the pack.JP14 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 31, 2018 3:58 pmExcitingRagingBull wrote: ↑Mon Dec 31, 2018 3:27 pm Reckon we might have a few surprises (and some not so surprising) this week

The back 5 plus reserves bar Thompson/ Denton currently operating are the worst ever in the Tigers history.
Loads of old players must be :censored: furious that the famous legacy of having the nastiest toughest bunch you dont want to play against turned around into the lightest nicest easiest pack to come up against.
Yesterday was embarrassing.

All seems very flat when it comes to recruitment at the min. A lot of very good players committing to their respective clubs whilst we’re relying on glorified trialists. No mention of extensions for our out of contract players, or a replacement marquee. Must be some clear out...

There is still nothing on the Sale website that says the Du Preez brothers have signed for them.

UVarndell secured. Now for Goodie (the only 10 who can do a cross kick)?
Yeah, let’s keep looking backwards, why not?
