Cockerill hasn't got the intellect or the ability to coach an international side.

No but he has got dog and players will play for him, a good senior coach or forwards coach post Jones.

A likely possibility will be Borthwick getting the head coach role.

The talk is the Head Coach role, not a forwards coach.

With McCall and Baxter saying that they have (at present) no interest then the RFU in their quest to have an Englishman in charge at HQ then I guess Cockers is in the frame. Doesn't work for me personally?

Bilingual top coach who has won lots at club level as a coach and player. Hardly lacking in either I would suggest.

I suspect he would be good at the job. Wish we hadn't sacked him.

He was sacked because the club went backwards in on field performances, underachieving in three or four successive seasons, and you want him back?

Players will play for him? Are you serious? Look at all those who left because of him, not to mention those who
stayed but hated him, (yes there were several) His man management was lamentable.

By underachieving he still got into playoffs and we always qualified for Europe, so i would take him back tomorrow.

A rather brave, sweeping statement. He’s got more than most.

Remember the day he turned up at Toulon? I’ve never seen another coach (Mike Ford) look so embarrassed as (your thick man) Cockers spoke straight away and at some length with French journalists “en Francais”.

5 months later he’d taken over the team, and dragged them from mid-table to the Top 14 final.

As you say though, no intellect or coaching ability.

He has vastly improved Edinburgh , and no one since has been as good. Poor Geordon just got thrown into the lions den, so I don't want to knock him.
