Re: Ulster v Tigers
Been on the easyjet site and they are showing no problem - looking at the wind on the met office for Belfast and it seems to be early Friday when there may be a problem but by 7pm it seems to have quietened down a bit. Seems as though we are going to get wet though - memories of Thomond Park many years ago when were the first to win there on the last game on the old stadium
Hehehehehehehehe

Andrew Trimble's view of the match
The ex-Ulster and Ireland wing believes his former team could come under pressure if they suffer a first defeat by Leicester at Kingspan Stadium. "Is this Ulster's easiest game of the pool? It's certainly not easy but it is their easiest," said Trimble.

Re: Ulster v Tigers
Our kicking has been average at best, and if it hasn't been our chase as been average. And our mauling has been shocking. So if we play those tactics we'll be hosed. That said with the conditions as they are expected, attritional rugby will be the name of the game. So territory and defence. They'll just be coming over trying to kick and maul over Ulster.

Re: Ulster v Tigers
Wish that were true, but , over the last few years, no one on here really expects Tigers in the second decade of the 21st Century to come away with a victory on foreign turf.

Bookies didn’t think we had a prayer at Twickenham either, and we have 3 test players back in the squad.

For pubs within walking distance of the ground, you have the Errigle and Pavilion on the Ormeau Road and also Malone RFC in Gibson Park. Malone playing an All Ireland League game at home at 2:30pm tomorrow. It's a good spot. Ravenhill should open at 3:30pm - 2 hours before.Benjamin540 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 1:11 pm So I'm taking the parents to watch the game on Saturday just wondering if anyone who's been to Ulster before can recommend any good pre & post match pubs with good a atmosphere ?

Ulster will be wearing the shiny new red European shirt on Saturday.strawclearer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 11:20 am We will wear the traditional red, white and green colours in all six rounds of the pool stages in this year’s Heineken Champions Cup, starting in Belfast on Saturday against Ulster.

Good!
Re: Ulster v Tigers
As you can tell I am an Ulster fan. You are probably favourites for tomorrow. Weather could be a bit damp on Saturday, Storm Callum didn't really directly impact, it's just a bit windy now - pretty standard for October.
We have a double digit injury list and struggled badly in the scrum v Connacht last week. The teams are announced at 12, so interesting to see how many guys we have got fit for this one.

Don't get cute
I would imagine after last weeks humiliation, in front of a home crowd, late on a Sunday both the players and the fans will be baying for blood.
I think for Tigers it's clear they have to try and get a nudge on the scoreboard, to instill a bit of nervousness in the crowd and the Ulster players. And if Ford kicks as well as he has been of late that would help.

Foreign turf? It's a good job it's being played in the UK then.fortysix wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 7:45 am Wish that were true, but , over the last few years, no one on here really expects Tigers in the second decade of the 21st Century to come away with a victory on foreign turf.

No TV or May. So Olowofela on the wing.
BOC back. No Denton.
Aussies on the bench. As is Owen.

Re: Ulster v Tigers
Who would go into the row if we get an injury, Lewis? We really are struggling at lock presently.....
Great to see the Aussies, BOC and Gareth back. Shame no Denton, May or TV, hopefully all will be ok for Scarlets next week, we'll need our best available for that game!
I think we have a chance tomorrow night, it's a bit like last week, very hard to predict, but we have the squad to produce a good performance, just need to execute!!
