Apparently Peter Steph Du Toit is keen on a move to England with Sale one of the clubs rumoured to be interested. Would be an excellent replacement for Fitzgerald.

If you want a big hard-woking lock that plays 5 and 6 (in South Africa that’s 7), PS. du Toit would be an excellent replacement for Fitzgerald.
Formerly of Burbaaage (not Inkleh), now up north at uni

An excellent replacement that would probably be twice the cost :smt017

He would be a huge upgrade not replacement

What you could do is use up a marquee spot on it, although think we could do better than PSDT for a marquee signing.
Or use up Kitchener and Fitzgerald cap together.

Think the whole squad needs re-balancing.
Pretty sure out of contract this season is
Props: Ma'afu, Gigena,
Hookers: McMillon, Kerr
Locks: Kitchener, Fitzgerald, Voss
Back Row: Kalamafoni (I think), Evans
Scrum Half: Harrison
Fly Half: Joe Ford
Centre: Tuilagi, Owen (Maybe), Smith, Tait
Wings: Holmes, Thompstone (I think)

Not sure on Mapapalangi's contract as well.

I think that is it but again not 100% sure on it. (Also have to factor in Cilliers cap space from the early release as well as toomua marquee spot)

That's a lot of cap to potentially play with.

Some of it was.

Cilliers was on something stupid like nearly 300K apparently.

The board need to decide who will be coaching the club next year, and who will be in charge of recruitment, before we even start to look at the shape of the squad next season.

I'd like to see a mass clear out, and a proper squad re-building with plenty of potential growth. Unfortuneately, I really don't see the club sanctioning a clear out, especially losing someone like Manu, and I can't imagine George will be happy with Joe leaving either. There seems to be a lot of quality about that is out of contract this summer, lets see how well Dusty can do.

Devoto out of contract end of season.
Chiefs will have to be losing some players to make up for the increase in contract extensions, might be get able.

How long did Feao sign on for?
Remember we have already signed Leatigaga from next season onwards.
Will he be in addition to the current pool of props, or to replace one of them??

Pretty sure Feao is a 2 seasons contract.
Nothing been confirmed by the club for Leatigaga but if he has signed I would imagine the cap would be saved for him (That might be some of Cilliers cap currently).

Bernard Foley has been named to start at fly-half for the first time in more than four Tests for Australia’s final Rugby Championship Test of 2018 against Argentina in Salta.

Matt Toomua is on the bench for this last game before returning to us. Let's hope he's not on for long enough to get injured!
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

Let’s hope he’s flying straight back from Argentina and not via Australia

If/when he joins I suspect Ma'afu will leave.

Cilliers was a very good prop when fit. It's just he was never fit for long enough for us to make the most of it.

Ma’afu is a short term injury dispensation isn’t he? If he is I suspect he’ll be gone as soon as Genge is fit.

I thought we used injury dispensation to get him in under the cap but I think it's for the season. An extra prop for cover until the player we want is available next summer.
