Ben Kay argues in Saturday's Times that this is an opportunity for the RFU to step in and buy the Prem. Whatever happens, someone needs to get a grip or we'll all go the way of London Welsh. Wuss, reportedly, spent 101% of their revenue on salaries. Madness.

England’s top rugby clubs unanimously agree sale of a majority stake of Premiership to private equity firm CVC is “not their preferred option”. Don’t reject takeover offer, & will explore outside investment “as a matter of urgency”, but only want to sell minority stake.

Good call

CVC are back in the picture as a minority stakeholder.

Can they fix the finances of the Prem. I doubt it personally.

A new owner may ensure the salary cap is adhered too to make a level playing field that is the only plus as far as I can see!

I am sitting on the fence with this one. Pros and cons seem to be pretty well balanced I would say.
