From social media feeds it would appear we were on the wrong end of Mr Carleys whistle

I wouldn't have said so myself.

Fair enough comments that they were on the wrong side of the breakdown a lot

Attack a joy to watch at times, Ford excellent attacking the line but need to get players onto his shoulder more but loss of Eastmond may account for that.
Tackling was amateurish at times, Newcastle seemed to be able to step out of the tackle at will.

Some dull penalties in second half when Tigers were clearly fading, fitness is clearly an issue.

Newcastle should have made more of the Veainu yellow card but made some unforced errors and allowed Tigers to weather the storm.

How bad did the injuries to O’Connor and Eastmond look

Spencer excellent.
Williams anonymous. Never made any progress ball carrying and missed a few tackles.

I'm banging the same drum yet again but if we were to employ a defence coach and a breakdown coach then we might be a very competitive outfit. Conditioning seems to be an issue too as we've faded badly in the second half of both games this season.
I saw Marika Vunibaka play

Williams did a lot in the mauls I thought though.

My summary
Murphy (Backs Coach) - In one week we looked like an attacking unit for a change.
Bakewell (Forwards) - Lineout worked a lot better both in defence and attack, the maul work was a lot better.
Stanko (scrum) - Solid, I mean Ma'afu isn't well know for his scrums but the starting front row did very well.
Deacon (Breakdown) - Was alright, missed BOC.
Defence Coach (Defence) - doesn't exist just like our defence.

Very happy but none of our coaches currently are experience in the defence and my worry is that doesn't improve.

Time for Ant Allen to be promoted up maybe

Maybe but would rather have a more experienced defence coach involved.
Take away Bakewell and that is a very young coaching team.

Pretty good improvement inside a week. Will take that. Plenty of things to work on but what did we expect in such a short period of time. TBP was more than we could have hoped for after the Chiefs game.

A very entertaining game, and probably the best 12 minutes of rugby we've produced in years to start with.
On the ball we were a lot better, defensively we still are poor. 73 points shipped in two games isn't good.
George Ford had his best game for Tigers that I can recall.

Happy days :smt030 :smt026

Made a refreshing change not to have to endure the endless moaning from Steve Johnson! He was positively upbeat! :smt023

Leicester showed what they are capable of in both halves.
Good to see Manu running at inside shoulders.
It's just a question of how the bodies hold up and how that might affect the mental strength over the course of a season in my opinion but the reaction from last week was clear.
