Ellis back to Bristol

Post by Mark62 »

Don’t panic Captain Mainwaring just said in Rugby tonight that he could see him ending his career there rather than France or Japan as all his mates and family are still there

I think it was always pretty obvious he would return to Bristol.
The question will be when.

Like Some tigers are Leicester through and through Genge is Bristol to the core.
That being said there is a big difference between keeping him till like 28/29 and then he goes to him leaving say next season.

And I think he and his advisors are aware of that. As you say he’s a Brizzle boy and eventually will want to go home. Fitness allowing he’ll be commanding big bucks at the next contract talks

There was such a kerfuffle around his leaving (pushed rather than jumped) that it may be a while before he would be welcomed back.

Scrap that! Gengey has just tweeted me to inform me he's got another 2 season's at least, and plans to give it is all for as long as he's here!

I'm sure Marcos loved his home just as much as Ellis loves Bristol. Didn't stop him playing nearly 250 games over 11 seasons!

To which Ellis replied:

"Marcos had a wife and kids living with him each day, very different to my situation but I appreciate you comparing me to such calibre or player. Also jaguarés didn’t have a team when he joined."
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

No reason why Ellis won't have a wife and kids with him here at some point.

That said, a number of players must be considering whether it was a smart move coming to Tigers right now.

A lot rests on poor Geordan shoulders.

Did anyone see Gengey on Rugby Tonight? I missed it but they said on BT Sport last night that he was very good.

He was very honest and entertaining particularly in regard to the problems in his youth and his dyspraxia.
This is where this thread comes from he was asked if he would ever play for Bristol again and his answer was yes he could see him finishing his career there

I was not happy to see him punching that punch ball, wasn't that his strained ligament/muscle side, just hope it didn't do him any damage? :smt017
