Contesting the breakdown
Apparently Eddie has had a meeting with Spreaders to discuss allowing more of a contest at the breakdown. Although he didn't say too much, Spreaders hinted that, apparently, whilst refereeing to the law this will be allowed!
I can't link to it as it's behind a paywall on the Times site. Maybe reported elsewhere as well.

Exeter will have to change their game plan......
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.
Re: Contesting the breakdown
The problem is that nobody except the Prem refs to the Laws at all. This has been the main factor in my slight loss of entusiasm for the game. There have been times I have turned off Pro14 or Super as multiple offences go unpunished.

Don't hold your breath waiting for it.
Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!
Re: Contesting the breakdown
The way the article reads it is as if our refs are going to start being more like SH!
Re: Contesting the breakdown
Yep and that may eventually mean me dropping off to occasional games as I hate optional offside etc SH style with a vengeance.

Re: Contesting the breakdown
Breakdown is a mess already. If you ref for entertainment rather than according to the laws of the game it won't get any better. More injuries likely perhaps?
I'm not cynical just experienced

I've learnt from last years 'ball in straight at the scrum' promise...
