Rank average. Guy Thompson can cover and we also have Reffell. Any news on when Evans and O'Connor will be back? I don't see the point in signing Mercer, he's never looked like anything more than squad filler at AP level.

As he was for England, Ireland and the B&I Lions (midweek team 2005)?

Just because he held these posts doesn't mean he was any good at them.
I think he's a little similar to Robinson. Good coach ill equipped to be the main man. Bath were fantastic in their first season, the handling of the Burgess situation and his inability to get the squad back on side ruined his tenure there. At Toulon he couldn't manage the big names at the club.

Typical. We make two signings I actually think are high quality and one is already injured. Hopefully Spencer has suitably recovered.

We do take our chances on sicknotes though, Eastmond will be next! BoC out too?! And Evans?! Reffell v Cheifs? Armand,Simmonds and Ewers will have a field day!

Eastmond injured that much at Wasps? If think he had a couple but it's also a case of he wasn't first choice.

Evans has had surgery so he's just recovering, BOC does seem to be injured a lot. Not entirely sure why we opted to renew his contract unless we couldn't find any decent option to replace him. Then again I don't know why we chose to retain Fitzgerald.

Reffell looks like the kind of flanker we should be recruiting. Aggressive, dogged, high work rate and likes to attack the breakdown. Wouldn't be a bad thing for him to get some AP experience at the start of the season.

Personally I'd rather we play Reffell than bring somebody in

Reffell could be very good but it's a big step up! Only other option is play Williams at 7 in a Haskell type role but I don't think his workrate is good enough. But then again Eddie was gonna play him there v SA when we had an injury crisis until sadly he got injured.

Reffell is future captain material, but we need to get him in gently. I’d hate to say it but we might need to play Mike Williams at 7 against Exeter 😭😭.

Guy mercer potential target as injury cover for Brendon O'Connor.

By winger i'm hoping it might be a wing/centre at least and one with plenty of bulk and power.
This is really out there but Delon Armitage?

Last thing we want to see any time, never mind before the season starts, is an 'Injuries' thread.

What's the problem/prognosis with Guy Thompson and BO'C?

Update: Hearing that Thompson out until the New Year.

35 years old now, and as said has previous with Tigers.

We where being linked with Montero a while ago I think, It was a argentine winger I know that.
Seems to be out in the wilderness a bit now but he had some size about him might be a good cheap pick up at only 26.

Maybe Karmichael Hunt if Australia still doesn't want to play ball with him, MOC knows him and covers a lot of positions, maybe offer him a 1 year deal and sell it as a way for him to potentially play himself into the wallabies team if he has a good season (As he could do a toomua and sign for a super team after the prem finishes).

Manasa Mataele but NZRFU are prob looking at him since he isn't tied to a nation yet.
Tevita Li career has stalled alot since he first came onto the scene.
Patrick Osborne
Another option maybe Hosea Saumaki don't think he can play for Japan either.

Just spit balling i'm not an agent.
