Must be a slow news week. Can't write solely about Cips.
RagingBull wrote: Sat Aug 18, 2018 12:30 pm Toomua looks way off the pace for International level.
Maybe aus might have been better just letting him get back to rugby with Tigers and then picking him for the AI's instead of dropping him straight into the deep end without playing any competitive rugby in a few months.

also maybe Cheika could try wooing Fardy back or does MC have an agreement with Leinster :smt017
I presume that as he's 34 now and will be 35 by the next RWC he's not seen as value for money by the ARU. I presume it's not cheap to get the likes of Toomua, Beale or Fardy back to Australia so they are only targeting those that will deliver over a period of years as well as the RWC.

Gathering pace where? :smt017
With Mercer now unattached, the board seeming believing MOC needs help, Mike Ford being a DoR, but with experience of defensive coaching and having two sons at the club. He could be the final piece of the puzzle.

Not seen Mike around so I assume that he is still in the States. Can see it happening but as for hearing about the rumour - not from me.

Seems like the Dallas Griffins aren't planning on joining the Major Rugby competition until 2019.

In taking my tongue out of my cheek, we need a defense coach, Mike has links to the club through George and Joe, why not ask him to take a couple of sessions? Heck, it doesn't need to be some formal arrangement. Can't imagine his US employers would mind him keeping his eye in.

Just because he held these posts doesn't mean he was any good at them.

I’m pretty sure the reason we got to the final in 07 was defence and through the forwards (John Wells) but I don’t like the prospect of Mike Ford coming here, my previous stance against Lancaster is beginning to relax however.

We dont require 2 failures running the Rugby side of affairs.
Its bad enough at Board Level, taking the eye off the ball and concentrating solely on the off field scenario...
This really is a make or break season, Tigers have been on an insidious downward spiral, mentioned on here for years, and it aint going to get better as no doubt , the Daily Mail is correct. As they normally are...

Tigers is the business, Rugby is secondary business. The board have devoted their energy to the former and as long as the cash keeps rolling in regardless as to what happens on the pitch, nothing will change.
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity

Fissler saying MOC wants to sign another winger and a back rower.
Guy mercer potential target as injury cover for Brendon O'Connor.

By winger i'm hoping it might be a wing/centre at least and one with plenty of bulk and power.

I thought back row was sorted? Injuries already? We need a big winger who can play centre too. Not exactly a massive amount of those floating about.
There is never any points for 2nd place...
