Oh yes we did a marvellous job of sorting Opeti Fonua!!

Some work some don't what's your point?

Fonua was more his off field discipline rather than a "Attitude".
Fonua's skills weren't outstanding either
I don't particularly mind some attitude just as long as from a team perspective it translates onto the pitch in a positive way i.e Genge, or in the past farmer White.
Seems to me there are quite a few mardy (and lazy) sorts about pro rugby with a lack of humility who aren't quite as good as they think they are.
I really want the ones who will bridge the gap between 5th place and the top and although I realise that risks need to be taken in such a competitive market these days I think that until it positively translates onto the pitch to contribute to a better team then it's fair enough to ask questions in my opinion.
Big signings aren't always the best signings etc.

I'd agree with BFG, Locky was a case in point. Everyone moaned about his signing, but IMO he held us together through some dire times and his attitude was peerless.

That's my point! You're not going to get another Genge to replace Genge!

I was happy that Mcaffrey left, he tried his best but at the end of the day he simply wasn’t good enough and I’m afraid that’s sport.

I think he was,he was an underpowered 8 but a very good 7. With a monster 8 you could have played him and BoC on the flanks, many teams have played two 7s to good effect

Perhaps, let's hope that happens with BOC and Evans this season at some stage.

Saying that though, Lewis Boyce would've have been a good injury replacement for Genge.

Yes agree and those crucial last chance turnovers stopped many tries against.
Frankly it's just bizarre that those who continue to state that he wasn't good enough face plant, too stupid to understand that Thompson has arrived to fill a hole that was made bigger last season.

I think we have to remember we need to be good (minimum) all year round. Eastmond is a good non international that we help us in the international periods and injuries

And offers something different to our other centres.

Eastmond would also be a very good person to have on the bench. Can cover lots of positions in the back line and he is the sort of player you could bring on and can change a game. This is not only if we are playing catch up but so many times last season we missed out on a bonus point because our subs, especially in the backline, weren't able to penetrate. Eastmond coming on against tired bodies with 15 minutes to go could change that.

I just read that this was Coles first full off season in ten,yes ten years! Incredible for a TH! I'm amazed he's not broken, what a machine. He's another one alongside Tom Youngs that I think will be back to their very best this season!
