He has resigned with the hurricanes a 1 year extension until the end of their 2019 season. Believed to be only for 1 year as he will be able to command more money in NZ in the future from sponsorship and TV right money coming into their domestic rugby.

So I highly doubt he will leave those shores.

I suspect he's just waiting to see where he's going to fit into the AB team pre and post RWC. If he's not going to be getting game time then there will be a host of European clubs waiting to sign him. If there's more money to be had next year then it really is win/win for him.
