Well if true its staggering news, Tigers must drive a very hard bargain to let him go given the scale of the impact it will have. Eastman is not a like for like replacement only signing another world class centre will do :smt009

Agreed, if he did leave the only viable option would be to bring Williams back from Gloucester. We need a 12 or can also cover fly half when Ford is away. Williams and Eastmond would be able to compensate for the loss of Toomua. Obviously a drop in quality still.

However, I can’t see him leaving until the end of next season. Highly doubt he won’t be in a Tigers shirt for 2019.

If it does happen I'd have OW back,he was the AP top assist maker from 12 in his last season.

Has Toomua been pictured in any of the preseason training?

Just 9 months ago Toomua said "My mind is firmly here, I want a few good years here".

It seems his mind isn't as firm as he thought!

The rumour I heard a few weeks ago was this. Bearing in mind a lot can change. He was going to sign for a Aussie club when his Tigers contract expired and using this, Australia were going to pick him for their WC squad on the technicality that he had signed to join one of their teams and hence he was eligible for selection.

Obviously the news has changed now in that he may be leaving earlier than we thought or the original rumour suggested. Although I can’t see him not being here next season, but could be wrong.

I'd have thought RugbyFlanker and a few others would be happy. They said Ford can't play to his best with Toomua outside him. If Toomua is moving on, Ford will come back to his best. :smt023

If he’s going at the end of the season but good luck to him if he does there is no point in him not playing for Leicester this season as the season down under is nearly over.

I think a comment was made earlier that he was currently in Australia which clearly isn’t true

You couldnt make this up..
We are still missing 2 heavy duty proven in your face props , 1 nasty top quality lock, two centres and a top notch reserve 15.
Everyone we have bought this season is either a well worn journeyman, or an up and comer..so to speak
Another season of mediocrity awaits, methinks....

Oh there’s the happy brigade out in force. Recruitment for next season isn’t even finished yet and people are criticising before we know the whole picture!
