Players can only be in a “senior academy” if they are below a certain age or wage.
Nothing to do with who’s preferred or not it’s just a cap thing.

You may be waiting hours.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Wed Jul 11, 2018 1:02 pmStill waiting.....
Very rarely.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Wed Jul 11, 2018 2:43 pmYou chat some rubbish!
what a seemingly brilliant way of avoiding an embarrassment that you thought that a signing was to be made yesterday considering Tigers are very likely to sign somebody over the summer.
I agree 100% and think it represents much of Leicester's downfall over recent seasons and until players are selected on merit alone I think it'll continue to prove difficult to develop the required quality of the depth.MikeR wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 8:12 am I find some of the promotions( and non promotions) to the Senior squad quite bizarre . Tuilagi and Thacker are extremely lucky to be included based on their showings so far , and I would have thought that Hardwick who is not included , should be a certainty for the bench 10/12 slot this Season .
The promotions are more likely relative to age/salary cap than who is favoured mostMikeR wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 8:12 am I find some of the promotions( and non promotions) to the Senior squad quite bizarre . I never insinuated there would be a signing yesterday. I just said watch this space.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 7:34 amSo true, Ellis called it, and was wrong! Now being called out for it!
Thacker showed against Gloucester that he has potential he just needs to develop a bit more. Tuilagi had a very consistent Anglo-Welsh Cup, works tirelessly and obviously Bakewell believes in his potential (as I have always done). Looking forward to hopefully seeing both of these during preseason.johnthegriff wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 10:43 am If a player reaches the end of his 3 year Development contract (age 18 - 21) a decision has to be made whether to release him or give him some more time to develop with a further contract. I don't think it will make any difference to selection at Premiership level if a player is under 21 or over, it will be whoever is thought best suited for the position available. I think Fred Tuilagi on his performances and work ethic on the training ground has deserved his new contract. Thacker has shown potential at times and may just need a bit more time to develop.
Neither has done enough for me and holding a different opinion to JP14 sits just fine with me.JP14 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 10:49 amThacker showed against Gloucester that he has potential he just needs to develop a bit more. I do really rate Jordan (who I hope you are referring to) but would it have been too early for him to be in the senior squad?BFG wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 4:48 pmNeither has done enough for me and holding a different opinion to JP14 sits just fine with me.JP14 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 10:49 amThacker showed against Gloucester that he has potential he just needs to develop a bit more. Retaining two more of the under 18 group would've been more productive in my opinion.
